Seahawk Addicts

Gravatar Mike, Thank you for the non-seahawk post. I think sometimes we get so caught up the whirl wind of sports, we forget what's really important. Much like you Steffes, I had friend that was diagnose with pancreatic cancer. I can tell you it is never easy to visit a friend in the hospital when you hear he has cancer. Thank goodness it was treated early and for the most part is cured. Of course he has dietary restrictions and its doubtful that he will ever be able to enjoy a spirit again. However, I'm certain he cares little about that. Because of him, I actually did a report in college on pancreatic cancer. It can effect young and old, it does not discriminate. Also, it is not hereditary, so anyone at anytime can be affected. Sorry to be so gloom this early in the morning, but awareness and education is half the battle. Thanks again for the post Mike. RIP Gene Upshaw.

Go Hawks!

Gravatar It is definately sad for the NFL....but this does raise some questions about a replacement. We know that some of the player reps were already talking about this a few months ago. This should be intersting to see who they get in there.

Gravatar Gene Upshaw was diagnosed just last Sunday.

Prayers to his family.

Gravatar Never liked him as a player, didn't care for his attitude as a player rep. I did admire him as someone that spoke bluntly, and stick with his convictions. I, obviously, didn't know the man, but my first thought upon seeing the post was sorrow. I have to admit that he had a positive influence on me if that was my first reaction.
God bless and rest in peace.

Gravatar RIP. Hell of a player and hell of a union rep.

What he did as far as what players are compensated these days is awesome.
