So, Gessner made some nice catches, as did Bumpus and Shelton. Too bad none of those guys have much of a shot to make the team. They might land on the practice squad though.
Hobbs is stepping up bigtime, making Omare Lowe a long shot.
Forsett is intriguing. I gotta admit, I'm pulling for the guy. Fast is good, as long as he can take a hit. We'll see in preseason.
I like that Seneca is practicing returns.
I like the thought of having Forsett too. I always liked watching Darren Sproles with the Charges. Seems like every time I saw him run, no one was catching him and defenders had a hard time catching up to him. A running back like that wouldn't work every down but it'd be fun to use every once in awhile.
I love the idea of Seneca playing WR, returning kicks, whatever. Frye can be our number 2 if need be.
Wallace is too good a player to ride the pine for 8 years like Steve Young did. Holmy needs to get him on the field.
I may be the only one who thinks that given a full season starting, Seneca would make a fine qb. He will never disect an offense like Hasselbeck, but as noted by the beat writers, he has incredible touch on long passes, and a cannon arm--both things that Hass is sadly lacking in.
His glaring weakness is that he isnt tall, and this leads to batted down passes. But Krieg was even shorter, and he was a fine qb--ranked 4th in the NFL during his starting career among active qb's. Which would have been hall of fame worthy, if only Knox could have taken him to a Super Bowl.
I wouldn't say that Hass lacks a soft touch on his passes. He may not have a rocket arm but I have seen him throw some beautiful passes.
i like Forsett but he just won't make the team. Maybe as a punt returner but not a back.
If Forsett is soooo fast why did he run a 4.6 at the combine?
