It is stated a little funky that article, but my understanding was that after 3 pm today, there was a limit to how much the salary could jump in 2010, and how much in bonuses could be paid out in 10'. Also, there is a little confusion on whether or not signing bonuses now go 5 years or still 6. PFT seems to have the section of the CBA that says either way, the proration goes to 5 years after this season.

If the this Sonics team is gone, so am I from being a NBA fan forever. I'll never spend another nickle on basketball on any level and I won't support another franchise that calls itself the Sonics in the future. I sat in the stands when they won their world championship. I usually went to a Sonics game whenever I was in Seattle to see the Seahawks play if they had a home game.
If the NBA can rip 41 years of support and devotion to a franchise right out of my heart and move it accross the country, I can make sure they never get another gram of support from me in the future no matter what amends they try to make.
Because this is a curse free blog, I can't really say how foul this whole thing is in my own words but I hate David Stearns like I've never hated anyone in my life for orchestrating this move. I hope they can stop him in court but there's not much chance in my opinion. He should be assclown of the century!
