Aquaman.

Gotham Central

I have to be wishy-washy, but it's not my fault; my choice *would* be Astro City if it were published on any consistent basis. Instead, I'll go with Plastic Man -- but only when it's a Kyle Baker issue.

Do limited series count? If so, it's We3. If not, I don't have one.

Or maybe it's Scott Pilgrim, but that's a limited series too.

Damn, that's wishy-washy! It's definitely Scott Pilgrim!

DC comics'H-E-R-O by Will Pfieffer (I'm likeing his writing everywher I come across ti, it seems)

I have to know what happens after each issue as soon as possible. Can't even wait for the trades sinc eI don't know if there will be any after the first one that got me hooked.

JSA. I'm a hopeless fanboy. Or fangeezer if anyone's closely examining the age issue.

Right now? JLA. Purely on writers.

We3--although I don't actually pay enough attention to what's on the stands for this vote to count for much...

Dave

Yes, Gotham Central's at the top of the comic heap for me as well.

I'll continue the Brubaker love by saying Sleeper. I feel like I'm getting one of the best writers and one of the best artists both at the top of their game.

She-Hulk.

Tough question. I'm always eager to find out what's going to happen next to Yorick, so let's say Y - The Last Man.

Right now, Y: The Last Man. (But it'll be Grimjack in January.) Is yours still Fables? Also, did I miss seeing Marvel Team-Up on Wednesday, or is that not out yet?

None. Absolutely none. Comics suck. They are an obsolete medium, better relegated to the quarter bins.

--m4 (I'm really not reading any. Do you have any suggestions that don't involve Warner Brothers properties?)

Ex Machina is kicking my ass. KICKING. MY. ASS.

The girlfriend likes it, too.

Astonishing X-Men, mostly for the subtly of Cassady's art work (the bit in Issue #3 where, in the space of 2 panels, he completley captures Rao's disgust with a shoulder move... wow).

I like Lucifer and Fables quite a bit.

Conan

EX MACHINA.

Promethea, although there's just one more to go.

Identity Crisis

Fallen Angel.

Lurker no more!

STRANGERS IN PARADISE. I'm still a superhero freak, but I love this book.

Even though I've been a little disappointed in the last few issues, I gotta go with JACK STAFF. I always get a charge from Paul Grist's witty layouts and writing style.

Gotham Central.

So many other books, I just read in trade.

I think I'm going to have to go with NOBLE CAUSES. I love the heck out of POWERS, too, as I'm still collecting that in issues instead of waiting-for-the-trade.

Eightball.

Daredevil

They really got me with this Identity Crisis thing, counting the days til issue 7...

If it hadn't just ended, I would say "Love Fights", but I guess my answer will have to be "She Hulk"

J! S! A!

X-Force...OK, no, really it's Fables, both for the story and art

Oh, it's a variable feast as to which one's my fav from month-to-month, but lately, it's been Marvel Knights:Spider-Man.

Usagi Yojimbo

Serenity Rose.

It doesn't come out very often, but whenever it does I do a little happy dance. It's gother than goth, but it's just so CUTE.

Identity Crisis

Even though I don't like everything about it...I haven't looked forward to a "monthly" comic with as much combined wonder and dread since Watchmen.

JSA. Just bought the new one, and it never (rarely anyway) dissapoints.

Adam Strange - Great story /Great Art

I remember when you asked this last year; I said "Jack Staff" then because all the Alan Moore ABC titles were passing on. Of course, now it turns out I *could* have said "Promethea"... This year I'm gonna pick... Kagan McLeod's "Infinite Kung-Fu." That Canadian needs love!

Hot Gimmick!

JSA. And I always thought yours was Genis...

Human Target.

Supreme Power

JSA

Fantastic Four. Waid and 'Ringo will be hard acts to follow.

Fables, with Y: The Last Man close on its tail.

The Goon.

The months that there's no Goon, probably Sleeper or Gotham Central.

Darn, I'm not the first to say this: Hot Gimmick.

MARVEL KNIGHTS: SPIDER-MAN

The first Spidey series to even come close to capturing the classic Lee/Dikto feel. Face it, a comic whose *fill-in* artist is Frank Cho has to be top effin' tier.

Conan.

I guess Dark Horse's Conan. It's the only regular monthly I pick up these days.

I'd guess I'd go with Birds of Prey.

Saddest thing is that I had to do a once over on my pull list to come up one.

Lucifer

Ultimate Spider-Man. Okay, it was until that Godawful Wolverine crossover last month, but we'll see how it goes from there.

Sleeper, Season 2.

StrangeHaven, although that's only like quarterly, if I'm lucky...

Y: The Last Man.

Fables

Ultimate Spider-Man's right at the top of my read pile each month, followed by Identity Crisis and Y: The Last Man (Ex Machina catching up)

Astonishin X-Men. For the first time in a long time, the Children of the Atom's adventures are fun!

Fables, but only because Preacher, Groo and Howard the Duck aren't being published anymore.

Plastic Man!!!!

jason vs leatherface.

Sleeper season 2

Alias (Marvel's book)

I'd have to go with the HELLSING manga series by Kohta Hirano, as my favorite currently being released, followed closely by Garth Ennis written, The Punisher.

Shonen Jump.

Alan Moore's Promethea gets my vote as well. After next issue, I suppose my next runner up would be Kyle Baker's Plastic Man.

Damn you guys, I'm riding the Hot Gimmick train too.

(I was gonna say Demo, but that's almost over.)

Planetary.

Astonishing X-Men is my current fave. It's the best superhero book in ages.

seth's palookaville

The Goon!

Hellblazer. And that's all she wrote.

ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN. It may not be the best. It may not be the most fulfilling. But I can't help myself -- every time it comes out, it's the first book I dig into, without fail. That has to count for something.

JSA (with Hellblazer not far behind)

Plastic Man.

Lucifer. Without a doubt. Not that you care if I doubted something or not. But if you asked, I'd say, Lucifer. Without a doubt.

Days late and dollars short....

I'm on the Y train. Vaughan (for some reason I've been spelling his name wrong for the last two years)is writing a book that really hasn't accomplished a damn thing and yet I am compelled to shell out three bucks every month to see what happens. It's like heroin, only cheaper.

And I was so gonna do the X-Force gag, dammit! (Since I actually read it and all...no that's not a joke.)

Marvel Knights Spider-Man!! Great SM action every month!

(I would have said Wanted, but why bother since it's a limited series with only one issue left... still the best mini of the year tho')

Put me on the Y bandwagon. Consistently, month after month, it's been the first thing I read whenever it comes out that week, because I have to know what happens...

Demo, even if it's only got a month or so left.

Supreme Power, with the new Conan close behind.

EX-MACHINA

dorks

Lucifer or Fables - 'tis a draw

And the offspring are fanatic about Shonen Jump

Walking Dead

Most of the comics I really dig only come out once or twice a year (if I'm lucky), so it's gotta be Human Target, now that Promethea's about done.

Identity Crisis!

My 11 year old really like Marvel Age Hulk -- He didn't care for the other MA books very well, but he really likes the Hulk book.

My own "must read" book of the month seems to be mini-series most of the time, Cinnamon-El Ciclo, Rose and Thorn, New Frontier, Challengers of the Unknown.

For continuing series, though, it would be Fables if I hadn't decided to go trades on it.

For books where I still buy the monthly -- right now it's the new Warlock -- GREAT stuff that's going right back to the original intention of Kirby when he created the character. of course, it's now cancelled.

I gotta go with Astonishing X-Men. (Barely.)

JSA.

Tuxedo Gin. There, are you happy now?

Don't laugh, Dor will confirm this... i always read my comics in order of least favorite to most favorite...

Obviously that means a different one every week.
usually it's planetary or ultimate something..
this last time?

PS238
yep
that's the current favorite.
sad, isn't it?

Planetary

we3

I hate choosing, but PLASTIC MAN.

I'm all alone in this, but Amazing Fantasy. I love the little girl caught up in a "web" of intrigue stuff.

Spider-Girl

Planetary. The writing and the art (especially the art) are amazing.

Y: The last Man. Has everything I want to get from intelligent serial entertainment.
(Hey, I'm comment #101)

Infinite Kung Fu by Kagan Mcleod. If you like old school kung fu movies, this book is a must read. The main character Moog Jugular is about the coolest character ever. Imagine a young George Clinton from P-Funk that knows lethal Kung Fu and fights zombies.

Vampire Game. It's silly, but I love it!

Would be Bone (if it wasn't done)... but since it can't be... I'll have to go with Amelia Rules - it's not just for little kids.

Close second to Invincible, Astonishing X-Men and Powers

Caving to the peer pressure:

Fade from Blue, though lord knows when issue 10 is actually supposed to hit...

Knights of the Dinner Table

Y: The Last Man

Queen and Country

EX-MACHINA!!! although there were others in the running.

(she hulk, astonishing x-men being the other two...)

Um...oh god....uh..... ASTONISHING X-MEN

James Kochalka's American Elf daily webcomic is the only current strip I genuinely love, the only one I want to read the minute I turn on the computer. I read and enjoy a lot of the comic books that have been mentioned here already, but I don't think any of them (aside from Eightball) rise above decent genre entertainment. I think Kochalka's sketchbook diaries are much more than that, a significant artistic achievement--and more entertaining besides.

Ultimate Spider-Man.

And "Scary Go Round" for webcomics.

Fallen Angel.
