"And one of them isn't even human!" Well, wait. Wonder Woman is an Amazon, which I guess is human, but a Thanagarian and a Martian are no more human than Red Tornado. They're humanoid, but they ain't homo sapiens. And you're right, Red Tornado is the only one who has even the slightest claim on being American. I think Superman doesn't like Tornado. What a dick. |

Actually, the first batch with the Justice League (not quite all-)America was sold with chew candy in the mid 1980's. I gave Tony Isabella the Hawkman one when he made an appearance at a local shop (as he was writing the character at the time) |

Thanks for the memories Mike. I had a bunch these figures, but since moving out and getting married I have absolutely no idea where they are. |

Those are what McDonald's would give out in Happy Meals if they wanted to make me happy. |
|
Tony - thanks...I just assumed they were all from toys! |
|
Technically, Wonder Woman's made out of clay, right? No humans! No humans for you! |
|
Hold on, isn't Batman an American? |

The Martian Manhunter a "lesser light?" TAKE IT BACK, TAKE IT BACK!!! |

What the hell is Superman trying to do on the cover of the Kaliban comic? It look slike he's trying to bite the guy's arm off. |
|
I always suspected Superman wasn't a Native American. Must've been the lack of something subtle that'd tip me off, like a huge headdress or some sort of fringe on his cape. |

I had that secret origin of Superman comic. I can confirm that those books came with candy. |

IIRC, the comic that came with the Green Lantern figure had him teaming up with Robin to fight the Joker. Overlooking the fact that there's at least one more obvious partner Robin could choose for the job, wouldn't you think a fight between GL and the Joker would last all of 5 seconds? The man owns a magical alien wishing ring for cryin' out loud. |

I was about to comment on the whole "human" thing and then make a joke about the "Native American" thing but I'll have to settle for a nostalgic sigh instead... |
