I actually miss Chaos! Comics. Then again, I'd be sad if David Coteau gave up directing and if Charles Band quit producing entirely.

Avengers Unplugged #2 is still one of the worst Marvel comics I have ever read.

Just a "who gives a crap" approach to writing a comic.

It is example #45969494 why editors should not be allowed to write comic books.

That Neal Adams challenge is the funniest. What a F@#$%*&g kook.

Todd McFarlane discussed his displeasure with Bob Kane over than pin set in an interview with AMAZING HEROES c. 1991. He had a funny story about how excited he was to meet Gil Kane and how horrified his wife was at how nicely he treated Gil. She confused Bob and Gil.

The magazine had before and after pics by McFarlane and then Kane, as I recall. That's when I first learned to dislike Kane. I learned about the whole Bill Finger, et. al. thing later.

Is it just me or does Batman's left leg look like it couldn't be attached to his body?

It looks like a guy in a batman mask and huge cape sitting on another guys shoulders under the cape.

Augie - I remembered that interview as I was writing this post, and thought about digging out my copy of the mag for the exact quote...but, I was lazy. You caught me.

And if I were half the comics geek I pretend to be, I'd know right where that mag was and I'd have scanned it in for you last night, Mike.

We're all lazy. That's what makes the earth turn so slowly.

Why do Chaos Comics rule, Mike?

I'm sorry, Bob, but now I have to destroy you. Nothing personal.

I still have my "Invisibles" pin with "Invisibles" written very lightly on the white background (instead of it being a plain white pin as Grant Morrison wanted.) I also have a "DC Helix" pin: anyone remember that line? Also a pin with some kinda crazy cartoon face on it that's marked "(c) Hudnall and Brereton, TM DC Comics." Was it maybe for a one-shot called something like "The Psycho" or something?

yes that pin is from Psycho -- and the Invisibles pin is my all time favorite - it actually fits the concept of the comic so well.

but I also have a soft spot in my heart for the Lobo "Bite Me Fanboy" button. A little Lobo goes a long, long way, but that button fits my mood at most conventions so well.
