Well, the Marvel Milestones isn't completely unrelated - they're all Nextwave characters.

Not that you'd know that by looking at the covers.

They really could have done a better job with that reprint's branding. At least they didn't call it Nextwave #0.

"They should just have movies starring William Shatner"

Indeed. I am currently the only person I know who has seen both "Incubus" and "Pray for the Wildcats"...

You know, checking out that new "Riddler" design, all I have to say is...

...what brand of crack was the WB Executive who thought a bad anime-influenced version of Batman was a good idea smoking?

Re 'The Batman' designs... I agree that the majority of designs have been extremely-off, though at least the Joker's revamp shows there was some aesthetic thought behind it. The Catwoman and Penguin designs, however, are much much better than those on Batman: The Animated Series. The Penguin's motivations as a character are much much stronger, too. Also, if you haven't checked it out yet, take a look at the Batman vs. Dracula thing. Very impressive, and one of the few times this new Joker character works for me.

Re the Alan Moore book: Isn't there some text missing on the splash of his "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?" Some very important, often-quoted text??

You have somehow managed a William Shatner/Red Shoe Diaries joke... Words fail me.

Also, I forever hate you because it is your fault I briefly envisioned William Shatner's steamy love life being narrated by David Duchovny.

Michael/BCK - I suppose I should have realized that. But still...is anyone interested in Nextwave going to want to read these reprints? (Or vice versa?)

Garrie - Really? I better take a look at that book when I get back to work.

The previous reprint of "Man of Tomorrow" moved the "This is an imaginary story..." text from the wonderfully lettered version on the splash page to a boringly typeset version on the facing page. If the new reprint leaves it out entirely that's a major blunder (making it typeset was already a high minor blunder). Hope that's not the case, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Dear God, I should have read that Shatner DVD club website more closely. Because the only thing that might be BETTER than DVDs about Shatner are DVDs picked by Shatner.

And the only thing better than THAT would be DVDs picked by those fine programming professionals from the Sci-Fi Channel. 'Cause there's nothing like watching DVDs recommended to you by the guys who brought you Mansquito, Path of Destruction, and Darklight!

Bob - Alas, that is indeed the case. The facing page has a "how Mr. Moore came to write this story" text piece, but the "this is an IMAGINARY STORY" bit is long gone.
