Probably a dumb question, Mike, but do you have a favourite month in comics? Maybe a whole buncha good shit came out that month, or just your favourite issue of Swamp Thing. (Mine's Saga #27, by the way. Love that Monkey King.)

I have a favourite comics month -August 1985 (cover dated Dec 1985 of course), not because of any great convergence of funnybook goodness, but simply cos I was born that month. I was in hog heaven when I got hold of the Aug 85 issue of Marvel Age a few months back!

I have a question -

is there a comic that you are personally ashamed of having sold? That someone paid good money for, and you knew was less-than-stellar, but for some reason, you never said anything?

(And it's either this or "What was Jimmy Olsen's deal?")

Any recommendations for TPB's to pick up? I haven't gotten anything in quite a while, and I don't collect the monthlies. I mainly read TPB's and HC Comic Collections like DC Archives and Marvel Masterworks.

Is The End of Civilization coming soon?

I'm looking forward to it.

Oh...and that thing where you list new $#!T from Previews is kinda good too.

Approximately how many comics do you personally own?

Not a question...more like a comment or an annoying suggestion really...

When I was working (one of my all-time favorite gigs) at an Antiquarian Book Store / Comic Shoppe, one of the ways we got rid of "less than stellar" comics was to bundle them together in 5packs, 10packs, 20packs and sell em CHEAP to kids.

They were HUGE hits around Summer Time when parents would look for stuff to buy for their kids going to camp.
THEN, they's come back for MORE!
"My son/daughter/mutant has made lots of friends by sharing these comics! I'd like to buy another big bag!

WE had a few mothers actually ask for SEVERAL 20packs! So we gave her a great deal on 100 books.
And it didn't matter if there were duplicates! They got shared and handed out to other kids!

We got rid of TONS of Archies that way (the girls...they loves the Archie), as well as almost all of our unwanted '90's sucktacular inventory.

Other ideas I wanted to implement were:

Halloween!
Every kid gets a comic!
(I do that at HOME too! I don't give out candy anymore. I hand out those halloween mini-comics and oldies. The kids LOVE it! At least the LACK of eggs and shaving cream on MY house says they do.)

You can unload a TON of SMURFS and KRULL that way!

Also, as a "freebee"!
Someone buys a bunch of comics, have a box of "Incentive" comics there for them to take one.

Heck, even of they bought NOTHING, and asked for a "freebee" they might be able to grab one (just not to do it all the time).
It would make friends, and they would then come back for other purchases.

Also, as "freebees" with eBay sales.
Someone buys something...BAM! Free comic in with their haul!
(And you have to MENTION on the auction that FREE COMICS are a part of the deal too!)

And lastly...FCBD!
No one said that you could ONLY give out NEW books!
SURE, give them a NEW comic and let them pick an OLDIE!
They might get hooked on an old series and buy some back-stock!

*sniff* I MISS working at a comic shoppe! My window displays really kicked all kinds of @$$!

I've got the trial for City of Villains and I seem to be blanking on names for some potential characters. Do you think you could help out?

So far I've got Mr. Zap and Nuclaire, and I'd like more Silver/Golden Age villains instead of the barb-wire covered nu-villains or darkness.

How would Swamp Thing trisect an angle?

Also: How much wood could Swamp Thing chuck, if Swamp Thing could chuck wood?

I've never actually been sure what "chucking wood" means (it sounds dirty, though), but I have to assume that if it involves plant material of any kind, Swamp Thing would be able to do it.

Why do you hate the scene?

Why are you such a scene-hater?

Mike, what's the first comic you remember getting that inspired the feeling I MUST get the next issue?

And how about your favorite fanzine of all-time?

On what day of the week did new comics arrive in October, 1982? I've been vaguely curious as to what comics were in stores on and/or shipped closest to the day I was born, and that seems like it'd be a good place to start.

When are you going to post a review of that RUDY IN HOLLYWOOD collection?

If you only had one day left to live, what favorite comics would you reread before slipping into eternal bliss?

Yes, this is one of those uplifting Friday-type questions.

Who would win in a fight between Swamp Thing and Metallo if Metallo has a heart of white kryptonite instead of the usual green kryptonite?

What's the WORST Swamp Thing story you ever read?

What's the BEST Man-THing story you ever read?

What's the ONLY Black Goliath story you ever read?

I would love to see a top 10 Graphic Novels, both your favs and one based on what your shop sells. And also I'd love to know if you agree with mith that with in what, 18 months, New Avengers has gone completely off the rails and is the worst book Bendis has done. yeah yeah yeah, New Avengers blah blah blah, I know I know, but I'm a sucker and had mediocre hopes that are not being fulfilled.

when were you planning on answering these questions?

If Man-Yhing looked into a mirror for a moment and startled himself, would he burst into flames from the inside out?

When will all the people asking for a Dr. Strange monthly actually *buy* a Dr. Strange monthly as it's being published?

Just Lurking--

Well, I have no idea what would happen to Man-Yhing, but, yes, Man-Thing would burst into flames. He just needs to be touching something that is in fear for it to combust, as was shown when he fought D'Spayre in a post-Dark Phoenix issue of Claremont's X-Men.

D'spayre? Does he/she/it have a relative named D'pends? D'sire? D'stroy?

Hee hee, I shouldn't give Marvel any ideas ...

What are Ace (of the Ambiguously Gay Duo)'s powers?
