A free issue of "Biff! Bam! Pow!" would be nice. Especially if it had a #2 on it and involved more fiesty female space boxers... |

Happy Free Comic Book Day! Hope it goes well for all you guys who make your living off of comics, I know those of us who are just fans love today. |

I will, more or less, albeit unintentionally and all too typically, be dressed up as Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons when I go to my local shop. |
One of these days I'm gonna pluck up the courage to go to my LCS on FCBD, dressed as Mar-Vell or something, and hand out free Hostess Fruit Pies. |
I've never been to a FCBD and I'm never going. Visiting the comicboock store is a chore and I'm not adding to the abuse by dealing with crowds. I'm curious, does it really bring in any new readers? Does it accomplish anything besidess some P.R.? |
So I went out to two local shops in the Buffalo NY area. The first one allowed me to only pick two of the many comics that were laid out for someone to choose from. An odd practice, but I suppose he didn't get a great amount of the material for the day? |

Given that Mike told me just how much the stores must pay for the comics that get given away, I hope Ralph's (and other FNCS) got enough actual paid custom to make the huuge hassle worth it. |
And, given all of the comments here, and elsewhere on teh interwebs, I'm especially grateful to Ralph for giving out the whole selection of FCBD books to one and all. It's a very generous gesture. Thanks. I suddenly feel all loved 'n' stuff. |

A little bit east of you in Valencia, my local shop had a whole event. Raffles, nerds in Star Wars getups, the works. Snagged All-Star Superman, and I ran into the Dog Whisperer with his kids. It brought my two loves together, comics and my unruly dogs. |
