I never liked the first Emerald Dawn, but I think Emerald Dawn II is one of the greatest Hal Jordan stories ever. Gerard Jones is so underrated.

Emerald Dawn isn't kewl anymore. I mean, no one gets shot in the face or anything... and that's not the DC way anymore. Remember, reading and writing hyperviolent stories featuring childhood icons is the only thing that keeps the pile of dead nurses in Geoff Johns' basement from getting any bigger.

From today's DC solicitations, I can guess that the reason they're downplaying Emerald Dawn II so emphatically is because Geoff Johns is rewriting Sinestro's origins and fall in the upcoming issues of Green Lantern.

Kind of lame, I think, as there's nothing really wrong with what Jones did, but that may just be the curmudgeon in me talking.

Do you think that Didio confused Emerald Dawn II with Emerald Twilight? His response would make more sense in that case, since It took them 15 years to "fix" the damage cause by that story.
