Zot! Reprints? THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the heads up. I read about eight issues of the original run and have been itching to read the whole thing for years...

Those "National Treasure" films are fun, since they don't take themselves too seriously.

I remember one issue of Zot! that had the most incredibly effective use of the letters page.

*spoilers for those who haven't read it*

The story ended on a sad note with one character rejecting another out of fear and peer pressure. You're reading it and you feel really bad that it ended that way, but that's the way these things usually go...

Then you flip to the page AFTER the letter column and, surprise!, there's another page of story -- the person that rejected her friend does a, "the hell with it," and runs back and embraces the other person.

I remember openly weeping at the beauty and the surprise of that ending; one of the few times a comic "got me" like that.

Fantastic stuff.

Oops, didn't mean to be anonymous there. My name is Jeff Wood and I cried like a baby reading a comic book.

I was all ready to order the ZOT book this week when I saw there was a hardcover scheduled for later this year. Now I can't decide. Twice the price, true, but a book this thick is pretty much sure to read better in hardcover, and I will read it multiple times, and with my Beanworld books looking to come in hardcover not long after...

I'm bummed to hear that the two part story illustrated by Chuck Austen wasn't included, and I'd sure be mad if I bought something that said "The Complete Black and White Collection" on the cover and found that omitted. That story ("Getting to 99," I believe it was called) is one of my all-time favorite comic book action stories.

Man, that really strikes me as a big mistake.

I liked the first "National Treasure" fine, but I couldn't stand the second. That said, the Duck adventure you described? I'd be there opening night.

Hey Mike, what are your feelings concerning the 'Watchmen' trailer? It makes me feel a little better about the project after having seen it, although I've been burnt in the past by trailers which were better than the actual films.
