MTV has interviewed her high school teachers, and they have also showed a clipse of her high school poetry sessions, they said she was very good in poetry and her session were magical and you would never think that you are listerning to a teenager. I think to be given a gift to write is powerful, a lot of musicians dont possess that skill
Lauryn hill was not raised in the hood, she comes from a middle class stable family background and she never talks about it though. She grew up in the same neighbourhood as Zach Braff from Scrubs, they are childhood friends, and they went to the same high school as well and remember Zach comes from a privileged background his father is a prominent lawyer and his mother is a psychologist. One thing that I admire about Lauryn, despite her privileged background, she has the ability to relate to people at all levels, and this is one best quality any Hollywood celebrity should have, because it’s the people at the lower levels that buy your music or see your movies.
