Happy 40th birthday to Heidi Fleiss! I met her way back in the day in her shop on 3rd Street Promenade before she went to prison. She was a) extremely cool, and b) much prettier in real life than she looked on television or in photos. I always thought she got rooked, and I told her so.

10 years ago, as barely a teen, I named my dog after Heidi Fleiss. Her full name is Madame Heidi Fleiss, but we just call her Heidi...or even ironically "Heidi-ho". My parents totally fine with it. I find that weird now. By the way, Heidi is the most spry 10 year old dog in the world. Coincidence?
