Secondly, I do not look up to or worship Kate; the entire fashion world are doing that on my behalf. Thirdly, I wasnt discussing what Kate wears on shoots; as someone who once modelled for i-d magazine, I am well aware what stylists and designers do. I was talking about how the woman dresses off duty, which is all her own unique, totally individual, and highly influential style. A lot of what she wears I would not put on my back, but she makes it work, because she has confidence and style. As for the drugs and the men, that is her life and her business. I can't think of any other model who could have had all that drama and still be working with all the top names in the industry. Kate is because she truly is an icon and anyone in the industry will tell you the same.

Many resisted the icon status, since she was not as highly regarded here, as she was in Britian with it's more 'Street chic', and hipper international look.

Kelly, I didn't mean to over generalize Amercian perception of beauty standards (as representative of yourself personally) but it has broadened immensely in the past twenty years. I remember Beverly (forgot last name)? being the first black cover girl for Glamour magazine! (I was a small child of course....lol) But Kate hit American advertising with a completely different look for the time. Some loved her, some hated her. But she has endured, and I also think she has an amazing bone structure in her face.
I will admitt, that age has only made her look "better" in my book. She is much more beautiful now, then she was back in the 80's. I think she has filled out more, and looks softer, and more womanly than during her "stick" phase. But of course, to each his/her own!!

Over here its more about being edgy and individual, whereas American is more about being exceptionally groomed and immaculate. While most stars have their own stylists, I really believe that Kate Moss is a "style icon" all of her own making, for better or worse. Just read some of the comments from fashion writers, editors, designers etc. The things she's been wearing have dictated trends for years, months, even years in advance, so unless there's some svengali pulling the strings behind the scenes, it's all her. I also think that most of it is due to the hype and constant stalkerrazzi of the British press that has helped build her rep as this style icon. None of this excuses her actions when she needs to get it together for her kid, before she's taken away from her.

I'd never heard the name Kate Moss until she was busted for doing coke. Now, that was the same time I started reading celeb blogs too, but I'd heard of Janice, Naomi, Tyra, Iman, Cindy...etc. before I starting reading internet blogs. Rachel Zoe may be those stars' stylists, but none of them started to wear that boho trend until Sienna Miller was photographed everywhere with Jude Law rocking it, long after Kate Moss had already co-opted it as her own. She's turned around Richie's style, but she looks too damn anorexic and coked out herself to actually realize that her client has a problem. I heard somewhere that ScarJo auditioned for The Parent Trap, but lost the role to Hohan.
Hohan wants more serious roles, but feels like everyone still remembers her as that Parent Trap kid, so ScarJo gets the better movies.
