I do not think Elliot is retarded at all. He's just fugly, and his bite is too small for his mouth (there is a technical term for that - you'd think with having a dentist SIL I'd remember). Besides him being talented, it would be so awesome to have a truly fugly Idol. All the other winners and finalists were at least telegenic, if not good-looking (Ruben and Clay, for instance).
