You'd be surprised. I went last year to see Alicia Keys perform and it sold out. It wasn't just one demographic present either; there were cowboys with their wives singing along in addition younger people. The rodeo does have country performers but Maroon 5 has been in 2 years running. You're right, this poor girl looks like she's at least 30 in the face.

The show was the same here. It was sold out weeks before and it was not an inexpensive show. The market apparently has become much more diversified and the organizers know it.

I took my daughter to her concert at the Rodeo (some of you are really ignoran- pls educate yourselves about this event before making those stupid comments).
Anyway, I watch Disney channel with my child (so I know what she influences her) and loved her as Lizzie McGuire, she looked totally cute but she looks crappy as hell now.
Anyway, she looked totally STONED at her concert, she looked tired (even as she 'sang' the first song), sweaty, disoriented... just weird. Not like I'm used to seeing her. She could definitely stand to gain some weight and take those ugly veneers off or at least trim them. She used to be so cute!
Oh and the person who hates her b/c she doesn't really sing... get over it honey, you are living in an age of the pre-fabricated pop singer... i.e. Britney Spears, Ashlee Simpson, Paris Hilton (yech!), Hilary Duff, Lindsey Lohan, etc, etc, etc...
A lot of you (probably from the East and West) obviously do not understand how big the HLSR is. It is the 4th largest city in the nation and the Livestock show is huge business, not your idea of a little country rodeo or county fair. The rodeo generated 70 million this year.
Ms. Duff has sold out everytime she has been there, and it is mostly little girls. I spent almost a whole week in the swine barn as my kids show hogs, and the day Ms. Duff was there, about a jillion little tweeny girls walked by all dressed up in their fake cowboy stuff.
Y'all should get out more.
