thats nice

Gravatar I bet she'd be a good mom.

Gravatar Is that "Law" she's referring to true? Can they really come back after 3 years and take back a child? That sounds unlikely...and pretty insane!

Gravatar MK, where would both of them fit?

Gravatar y'know...i kindof dig her. she's got personality.

Gravatar Latifah likes her women thinner than Mandisa, sorry MK!!

And Jen-o, I agree! I think she'll make a great mom.

Have you seen her Mom in the W***** commerical? Her Mom is beautiful!

Gravatar long live the queen...

Gravatar AS for her adopting, she sounds like a fun, down to earth lady. and yes, she has lost weight so kudos to her.

Gravatar Duh...

Hey... Whitney's available.... second thought.. never mind

Gravatar Queen Latifa lesbian?! What?!
The next thing you know, you are going to start saying that Clay Aikin is gay!

pfffft...hahahah..I couldn't even keep it together on that one...

Gravatar Total dyke....

Gravatar you guys were all right....adoption is the new black!

Gravatar I wouldn't be surprised if she ate vag, I can picture it well enough that it seems real.

Yah, is that a real law? If so its terrible! So what if someone cleans up? What's guaranteeing that they don't fuck up again?

Gravatar "you guys were all right....adoption is the new black!"

It all started with that serial-adopter Mia Farrow. now EVERYONE is doing it.

Gravatar Why doesnt she just go to a sperm bank and get sperminated?

Gravatar i thought Herpes were the new black. Damn it I cant keep up.

Gravatar She is absolutely beautiful. Bea-yoo-tee-ful.

Gravatar What a lucky child! she will make a great mom!

Gravatar I adopted a child and yes some of the adoption laws do allow a mom to come back it depends on if the child was taken away or voluntarily given up lots of things about adoption need to change.

Gravatar Um
she is very very wrong about natural parents "coming back" to get their kids after 3 years. She must be refering to foster children where a child must be first adoptable to be (ahem) adopted. The natural parents must be given a certain ammount of time to get their acts together while their child is in a foster home. There is a huge difference between foster parents and adopted parent.
Plus when a child is placed for adoption at birth the natural parents on average have less than 72 hours to take their child back not 3 years.
She needs to do some research about this.

Gravatar I will give the point on it is most likely a foster child BUT depending on the state it varies. I adopted my child at birth the birth mom was not contesting it and yes in 72 hours she signed it was ok for my husband and I to take the child home. HOWEVER she did have the six months until it went to court to be finalized where she could have changed her mind for no reason and we would have to somehow prove her unfit or give the child back. This is in Calfornia.

Gravatar Just come out already! Jesus.

Gravatar lisa | 04.07.06 - 12:25 pm | #

Lisa that's my biggest fear, to adopt a child and have the child's biological parent(s) try to get the child back. I know this probably doesn't happen often but it happens enough to worry me.

Gravatar Ruby do not let it scare you..the joy of a child is so wonderful just do your research on the rules where you live and make sure there is no grey area for example the bio dad knowing or the bio mom being truly not 100% on board with it

Gravatar Somehow I think her adopting a child is different than say Jessica Simpson adopting one...she is a great person and would make a good mother. I don't think she would view her children as accessories like some other celebs.

Gravatar my cousin's daughter and son-in-law adopted a baby boy about 10 years ago. He was born to a mom addicted to drugs. They had him for at least 6 months, but at some point the biological mom changed her mind about the adoption, and he was taken away and given back to her. It absolutely devastated them. I can't remember which state they were living in at the time, my cousin is in Florida but her daughter lives in another state.

Gravatar Ruby, what Lisa said. Do your homework, since I guess the laws are different in each state. My cousin's daughter eventually did adopt again, and their son is about 7 or 8 now and all are doing well.

Gravatar adoption laws vary from state to state. one state my allow a birthparent to sign irrevocable papers at 72 hours after delivery, while another state allows 40 days.

in any case, its heartbreaking for all involved.

Gravatar I want Queen Latifah to adopt me...

Gravatar Thanks Bean and Lisa,

It won't deter me. I've always wanted to adopt. I just have to figure out if its right for me to adopt inside the US or to seek an international adoption.

Gravatar She could adopt a little boy... and name him Prince Malik.
I love the Queen.

Gravatar Ruby

coffey, I love her too. She is a beautiful woman, and she seems very down to earth, and secure about herself. And I agree with whoever said she would be a great mother, and would adopt to be a mother to a child, not to have a nice, new accessory to tote around.

Gravatar I think she'll make a great mom, too. If she adopts a boy, I wonder if she'll name it after her late brother, Lance.

Gravatar She'll be a great mom... I like her!

Gravatar I dont get it. Yall love Queen whose a big girl but hate Mandisa because? I knew you faggots were nothing but cum sucking offspring of the devil!

Gravatar Duhhhhhhhhh!

Gravatar Kiki, Queen Latifah is gorgeous, talented and kind. Mandisa is a big lady with a great voice who happens to be homophobic. She also is a little too self-righteous with the religion. Being homophobic is just stupid, ignorant and mean spirited. God did not mean for us to be intolerant or unkind. As for being "cum sucking offspring of the devil," I guess some of us are...the ones who are .having the most fun

Gravatar Note: Kiki and I are NOT one in the same.

P.S. Bitch - we're not all gay on this site.

Gravatar Don't recall contributing to Mandisa Hate... but whateverrrrrr.

Gravatar Yay Queen! There's nothing like the joys of motherhood. But if she's able to carry a child she should have one naturally as well. I think she'd make a great mom.

Gravatar MK, just because you got turned out by some guy, doesn't mean you have the right to assume Mandisa's lifestyle. She is a born again Christian, how dare you judge her, obviously you are a real confused soul, maybe if you went to church you wouldn't be so miserable and defensive about your sexual preferences, but you know you're wrong otherwise you wouldn't have judged her!!! Keep in mind MK, she NEVER JUDGED YOU!!

Gravatar anon2/Fancy! That was hilarious!

Gravatar MICHAEL K--Whats up with you? Are you dellusional? Which is it? Is Mandisa gay, or is she a gay basher? How can you report either? I am a law student and I would love to see the laws involving defamation, slander and libel become more strict so that you could be held responsible for your lies and intentional infliction of distress on that poor girl as well as others you degrade. I think its cute to read some celebrity gossip here and there but its not cute when someone maliciously attacks another's character. Additionally, your shit doesn't even make sense. Why would you have 2 back to back conflicting stories? Maybe you are too busy putting others down to have any insight into the actual rules of journalism. G-d bless you.

Gravatar Summer, please unplug your internet connection now! If you hadn't noticed, this site is a joke! come on, lighten up.

Gravatar Getting adopted babies is like the new fashion in Hollywood. Everyone wants one.

I actually really enjoyed this because as it was posted on my blog Queen Latifah Adopts . We think that celebrities think adoption is like buying new toys. My roommate tried to adopt, but the baby wasn't working correctly so we tried putting batteries in its mouth and it still didnt work. We returned it.

Gravatar Queen would make a great mother, I really believe that.

However regarding Man-Diva, I find her to be a wonderful person and MK, at one time you were fan and now you belittle her. It’s not right. Everyone, EVERYONE is entitled to his or her own opinions. Man-Diva isn't a homophobic, she's a dedicated Christian--is she perfect no and I don't believe she claimed to be.

Self-righteous?!? Why do we say that when a person openly shows a love for their faith, yet it’s socially acceptable to embellish one’s sexual escapades, participate in rave parties, write books that teach how to create a bomb, drug and rape women, etc.? Why is she self-righteous, because she refuses to deny the Father? I’m going to attempt not going off on a tangent, but I think ‘We’ all need to look in the mirror before we judge someone who simply, SIMPLY loves God!!

Man-Diva was misunderstood, and it is plenty of people who believe homosexuality is wrong--does that make them homophobic? Some, yes, But surely not all. Do I think it's wrong? I think it's unnatural in the aspect of creating life and yes, it's against the Bible…and yes I think it’s wrong. But if I'm gonna go there, so is premarital sex, stealing, lying, cheating, killing, coveting, etc. And we indulge in these things. I don’t hear anyone yelling out “Villainous Sinner”. And I shouldn’t. And you know why? No sin is greater than the other. My aunt is gay and I couldn’t love or respect her anymore than I already do.

Man-Diva has the right to her beliefs just as we all do. Hers just happen to be made public and misunderstood at the same time.

Gravatar Uh..yeah...she's totally gay...Her girl is a personal trainer in LA... She's so closeted it's sad....

Gravatar BTW has it ever been scientifically proven, that any sexual preference, gay, straight, or bisexual is genetic?
Or do some gay people just say that they are born that way? Has anyone found a gay gene? So many advancements in genetic scientific research and no one has found one to prove human sexuality yet?

If sexual preference is innate and specific how do you explain those that like both sexes, bisexuals?

I am straight and dont think I was born that way, I just have a preference for the opposite sex sexually. But put me on a deserted island or jail with only women and I will quickly learn to enjoy licking pussy ASAP

Gravatar Well, religious zealots need to believe that gayness happens by choice so they can play God and judge those who are gay.
Scientists needs to believe that it's all about genetics because they want to be absolutely right about everything, just like the zealots always want to be right.

I figure not only is it possible that they both could be right in someway, absolutely none of this information is any of our business unless you are gay.

If religious fanatics weren't the pompous, gossiping, prejudiced people they are. They'd be to busy sharing love and kindness to everyone in their path to worry about a total stranger's love life.

Do gays have an agenda? ABSOLUTELY!
ALL living entities have an agenda! From a mosquito that wants to drink your blood, to me who wants another soda, to the religious, political, and scientific fiends who want to control everyones thoughts, beliefs, and personal lives.

The only agenda I see gays having is for everyone else to leave them the hell alone and stop using their private life to cheat them out of their basic human rights. We don't need to have proof of a gay gene to know that a person's private life is
none of our business* and not our place to tell other people that their love is by choice or genetic.

When I see gay people I don't give a flip how they "became" gay. I just want my soda.

*Disclaimer:
I acknowledge that while on my soapbox preaching about the importance of respecting ones privacy and lifestyle I am posting on Dlist, a gossip blog that routinely shreds away and ridicules the private lives and lifestyles of others. I say to that, "So?".

Gravatar Summer - Delusional has one "l" , not two. Spelling errors are unacceptable for both journalists and lawyers. If you've completed Constitutional Law, you know that the standard for establishing a prima facie defamation case for a public figure/celebrity (e.g. Mandisa) is different than for a non-celeb. Therefore, MK has certain protections under the law. Good luck in law school. It's never too early to prepare for the bar exam if you plan to take it.

Gravatar @Reality Check-- I am well aware of the elements that make up a prima facie case of defamation. That is why I stated that I wish the laws were more stringent in that regard. I agree that it is important for law students to avoid spelling errors, which is why we “spell check” any documents, memos, and/or correspondences prior to their distribution. It is also important for attorneys/helpful legal advisor's on blog spots to be observant and read statements in their entirety.
