La Angel - Looks to me like she had both. When you get a reduction, you nearly automatically get a lift. I've never, in 10 years of medicine, heard of a reduction without a lift. Lifts on their own I've heard of, but to my experienced eyes, she had both done.

bucki - do NOT ask me! Why anyone would put staples in someone's breasts is beyond my grasp. That was the first one. After the second one my doctor said the first surgeon had "butchered" me. Left them in way too long and the drain wasn't put in correctly. Ugh.

meramari - yeah, it hurt like a motherf*cker, but was well worth it. To me, the biggest gross-out thing was the bruising. When they unbandaged me, I almost fainted from seeing the bruises. It looks like my tits went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. Oh, and the drains weren't fun, either.
But it was well worth the pain because it significantly eased the pain in my back, neck, and shoulders.

Don't let anyone fool you, breast reduction is MAJOR surgery. I had two surgeons, one on each side, and I was still under general anesthesia for 3.5 hours and on a morphine drip for 24 hours. I really enjoyed the latter.

I had my operation 2 years ago at 21. Went from a 38EE to a 36D. The pain was the worst and the recovery was very long (4 months before they incisions closed). But after 1 year the scars completely disappeared. That's why I can't understand these celebrities who have scars that are so obvious. Maybe it's because they sunbathe topless or something?
Jenner, my GYN said I should look into it b/c I have a huge painful scar tissue buildup in my left one. You can't see it but you can feel it and it's getting bigger. My BF got the crap scared out of him b/c at first he thought it was a "lump". So did I.

bucki - It totally depends upon the person. Some people are more prone to scarring than others. Smoking and general overall health are other factors. A smoker friend of mine had it done, and when they unbandaged her, one nipple was black due to lack of blood supply from her smoking. They put nitroglycerin paste on her nipple and she was lucky, they saved her nipple.
Personally, I got total sensitivity back, too. I know some people don't. My experience was very positive. The only thing I would change is I would have done it younger. I waited until I was 37.
bucki - remember that a lot of them smoke and drink. That right there impedes healing bigtime. Also, if you don't strictly follow the doctor's rules about what you can/can't wear and can/can't do, that also messes you up. Weight gain can enlarge the scars as well. LA is right as you know. That shit is MAJOR surgery and so much can go wrong, one really needs to do research on the surgoen beforehand.

Jenner, I have 2 now. My third had to be put down. One of the ones I have now was a rescue. Her previous caregiver threw her out in the snow when she had the nerve to grow into an adult cat. She's never been outside before that. Right now she's curled up on my fucking couch which she KNOWS she isn't allowed on.
As for drs...not worried...I have wonderful resources. It's pain I don't do.
I had spinal surgery and that was ok because I was fine in a few days but months of recovery...not into it.
Also, I dont know what it is about pain meds but they don't work worth shit for me. Morphine is the only one to take the edge off.

- I had a lift with my reduction, but there is such a thing as a reduction without one. Instead of a scar looking like an anchor, it looks like a lolipop. I don't think it's common, but it's possible.
