I think they wear solid, light colors because all professional photographers will tell you to dress in solid colors when posing for portraits. Clothes should not distract from the picture. typically reviews don't necessarily make or break a movie these days...it seems to have more to do with the actors that star in them rather than the merits of the movie itself....several movies that i know of that were Oscar worthy either didn't get an Oscar nod or they didn't win...i heard that both Babel and The Good Shepard were good movies, but im not sure if people will be able to overcome this publiciy storm that surrounds Brad and Angie..i for one won't be seeing them at the box office, but perhaps i'll rent them on DVD...only time will tell..

I'm not sure of where you are from, but if Angelina humanitarian works are your first introduction to charity and the plight of people living in other countries, then I might suggest that you pick up a newspaper once in a while rather than posting on Dlisted. Celebs have been doing charitable works for years, not to mention raising awareness of global issues on a larger scale than Angelina. I give her credit for getting involved, but I have been envolved with both domestic and international charities since I was 9 years old. My exposure to the less fortunate of the world can be credited to my parents who insisted that I volunteer and participate in fundraisers at an early age...There is nothing wrong with finding her humanitarian work admirable, but to believe that it all started with her is naive, short-sighted and just plain rediculus. I get that you like her, and for a celeb she does more than Paris H, Nicole R., Lindsey L and Jessica Simpson combined, but make no mistake, plenty of celebs have done charity work with less fanfair.

I'm not sure of where you are from, but if Angelina humanitarian works are your first introduction to charity and the plight of people living in other countries, then I might suggest that you pick up a newspaper once in a while rather than posting on Dlisted. Celebs have been doing charitable works for years, not to mention raising awareness of global issues on a larger scale than Angelina. I give her credit for getting involved, but I have been envolved with both domestic and international charities since I was 9 years old. My exposure to the less fortunate of the world can be credited to my parents who insisted that I volunteer and participate in fundraisers at an early age...There is nothing wrong with finding her humanitarian work admirable, but to believe that it all started with her is naive, short-sighted and just plain rediculus. I get that you like her, and for a celeb she does more than Paris H, Nicole R., Lindsey L and Jessica Simpson combined, but make no mistake, plenty of celebs have done charity work with less fanfair.

she is not my "introduction to charity." and I'm not sure where you got that from what I said. what I was saying is that I could give less than a shit about her tabloid life (which is why I never comment on the aniston-pitt-jolie arguments).
however, I applaud her for giving a third of her money to charity every year, for using what fame and recognition she does have to try to work for the greater good. it's just logic - she's famous - people are going to pay more attention to these issues when she attaches herself to them. and I can't fault her for that; rather I commend and admire her for it. because so many who have been in her position don't. they live in their rich hollywood bubble and live their whole lives that way. it doesn't mean she is alone in her efforts to better this world, but it doesn't mitigate or diminish them either.
I am very well read and keep up quiet well with what is going on in our world, not just america's version of it. I appreciate your point, and if you have been involved in such work since you were a child, then I praise you also.

Thank you for clearing that up because for a moment I thought Angie was your FIRST introduction to humanitarian efforts. I'm glad that isn't the case. I hope you can forgive me for being somewhat snippy but I mean no offense. It seems that people are so willing to attribute sucesses to her that she doesn't have a right to claim. I, along with you, think that her charity work is wonderful, but I also realize that it didn't start with her nor will it end with her as well.

Why do people think that she donates 1/3 of her salery to charity?...Hopefully you don't think this just because she said so...
If you look at her donations so far (through the UN) they total aprox $4million, and that is taking into account long term donations as well, you can see that this doesn't even come close to 1/3 of her earnings...
She might be giving this $$$ anonymously, but then she wouldn't get the name recognition along with it, which I would think would be important when you are a Goodwill Ambassador...Perhaps she is talking about all the donations she will make in the future...
Also, the role of a Goodwill Ambassador is to get information out about specific issues, but how has her work accually translated into better conditions or more donations for the plight of refugee children, substandard education or the AIDS pandemic? I have yet to see or read about any reports regarding the improvement of child refugee's conditions in the world because of her work...Perhaps this is a short comming of the nature of the position or more a comment on her effectiveness?!?...

I meant every word And charity work is so fulfilling with the returns being so much greater than what you give (and I'm not just talking about $$$) If you are interested in doing international charity work I would suggest joining Amnesty International. They are always looking for volunteers to travel to countries and talk about human rights violations. It can be somewhat harrowing work with an element of danger, but they do prepare you for it. You can also work with the Red Cross. If you have some medical training or if you are certified in CPR/First AID most organizations would be happy to send you overseas. Also, volunteering with organizations that do educational work on a global scale is fun too. If you are a US citizen you can check out the UN for internships and volunteer positions. I know that the UN was desperatly looking for volunteers for this summer because not that many people were applying for the postions..I think too many people are scared of traveling overseas in todays political climate.
on topic: Shiloh looks like any other new baby..cute and chubby, but Zahara is a stunner! Brad and Angie will have to beat them away with a stick when she gets older!

Angelina makes a lot of donations outside of the U.N. She gave $2 million several years ago to Cambodia to create a nature preserve, plus more for annual upkeep. They cited it when they gave her honorary citizenship. Back when she was filming Beyond Borders she founded that animal preserve in Namibia the family visited several times. She also does a lot of work with Dr. Jeffrey Sachs and the Millenium Promise in Africa. None of these are UN projects.
And I don't think she and Brad are making more out of their donations than was done in the past. It is just that the media, and public, are paying more attention so it becomes more of a big deal.

To the poster who believes that international relief organizations are "desperate" for people to work in troubled areas, get a clue. I graduated from a master's program in the US where there were plenty of people looking for these positions, and it was by no means easy to get them. The real issue is dealing with well meaning, but clueless types (like most of the Hollywood crowd) that think that they are like the Mother of God, who could descend upon any lesser developed country in the world, and be welcomed with open arms. What I said was that international agencies are desparate for volunteers! Perhaps if you and your friends would donate your time and not ask for $$$ you might find an organization that would take you and gain some experience in the meantime! I am a Human Rights Officer at the UN and the interview process is HELL compared to the accual job so I can relate, but you might try volunteering to get an IN if you want to work for the UN...

You need to check your facts...Those donations were through the UN. They are listed on their website as they are public records.
