It's one thing to get high and do stuff to yourself, it's another when you start spewing blood at people and injecting passed out kids with who knows what. And I would be repulsed if I was a stewardess and had him on the same flight I was on. I would refuse to work. He is nasty all the way.

The guy has a death wish, his family is probably ashamed and worn out and is wanting to distance themselves. I was married to a great guy who had the same problem, for years I tried to straighten him out, rehab ,intevention, tough love you name it we tried.... I finally kicked his ass out cause I din't know what would be next.
In the end it didn't matter how many people tried to help, he OD'd in 1992 leaving me with two small kids. I am sorry he made that choice, but I am glad he didn't flip out and try to take me and my kids with him.

It's really tragic when someone is addicted; and they really can only help themselves in the end, no matter what anyone else tries to do. Your kids are very lucky they had you as their mom.

Pete looks like somebody's poor, confused grandfather abandoned in the middle of the airport in his wheelchair. 
Man, I'd be so mad if I were a Colombian drug lord and Pete turned out to be one of my newbie drug mules. I'd be all like, "Hey, whatever happened to that load of heroin that was supposed to go to Oslo?" And Pete would just be all slumped over, grinning and nodding vacantly on a luggage cart.
People seem to forget that he is an extremely eloquent man with an amazing skill for writing lyrics. He answers interview questions so constructively and impressively. He might do stupid things, but he's still one of today's best muscians.
And to whoever said Babyshambles was a bad name: so what? They're music is amazing.

Some people no matter how good or smart can't get past the need to get high and escape. It would be interesting to know his family dynamics as he was growing up. My husbands family definitly had issues, especially denial. The way Pete Dohetry keeps doing the same thing over and over to ease what ever demons he has is either going to scare him straight or kill him.
yeah, my ex is going through the same thing.... it breaks my heart... shooting morphine and crystal meth. I had a dream one night he died and I woke up crying. I would never wish death on someone just because they are an addict. Addiction is a VERY powerful thing with a lot of medical and psychological issues surrounding it.

As a former drug attic I can agree with Blue Rose and say that Pete Doherty is a waste of a human being because he doesn't accept responsibility for his actions and get clean. You have to have a desire and strength to quit, which he doesn't have. Come on, they can afford nice fancy rehab centers and still won't get clean. IDIOT. I did it when I was broke and with a treament as an outpatient at a county hospital. So in conclusion Pete Doherty is a fucking loser.
