Not if she violated the terms of her departure agreement. Doesn't anyone here work in a corporate setting? Contracts are regularly amended, especially when a change is instituted (like a non-renewal). Shit is ruthless. And I suspect that she wouldn't be this "out loud" about everything if there weren't financial repercussions to her actions. It's not like she has a new job that's been jeopardized by this negative publicity.

Barbara did not force star to turn her wedding into a three-ring circus. Barbara did not force Star to be dishonest about her "medical procedure" and weight loss. Barbara did not alienate fans through self-promotion narcissistic self-aggrandizement. Star did that all by herself. The fact that ABC did not renew Star's contract could have been kept in the dark had Star herself not gone and blabbed about it to People.

I really don't think Star did anything wrong. I think she got canned from her job, was pissed, and wanted to one up them. She did what anyone else would have done. The fact that ABC did not renew Star's contract could have been kept in the dark had Star herself not gone and blabbed about it to People.

What the fuck was wrong with her voice? It was really noticeable when they led back into the interview with footage from a previous LK interview when she talked like she normally did. It was like she was almost whispering. Way more annoying than usual.
One thing I did notice was every time she mentioned she wasn't told until April her contract wouldn't be renewed, she'd do the "eyelash flutter". That is a body language deception cue. Ive said it before, im not a fan of Star, but I think she ALMOST did an amazingly perfect job last night on the interview. The constant smiling and laughing and her unusual tone of voice really took away from her credibility a bit. Even Anderson Cooper was making fun of her (cuz of the ridiculous smiling) throughout his entire 360 show that aired after Larry King.
Star is first and foremost a lawyer, and she acted as if she was giving testimony on a witness stand. She was obviously coached in the same way that witnesses are coached by their lawyers before they take the witness stand. She's an expert on this.
If this was a testimony and i was in the Jury, I would actually have to convict barbara and ABC and find Star innocent. THATS how good her performance was. She totally showed her intelligence and turned those tables right back on ABC and made them look like complete liars.
Star wins this round. Babs blows. We finally got a glimpse into the very cut-throat world of tv politics.
Star is on the view right now. Is this a repeat? Must be.

Star needed to do something. I don't know how many of you noticed that when she talked on The View, she had to take deep breaths while talking. I was telling someone either she needs to lose weight or she has very bad asthma.
I enjoyed the show with Larry King; she got to tell her side, whether anyone wants to believe her or not.
Take her and Barbara Walter's faces off of this situation for a minute and put yourself in their shoes. Yes, I would deal with all the leaks to the tabloids, newspapers and magazines and I would've told the truth.
Debbie Matenopolous once said her leaving The View wasn't ethical either. That's showbiz for you.
If a network chooses not to renew a person's contract, fine. But don't go around leaking things to the media, telling lies, hiring adversaries and attempt to make someone look like an idiot.

Ya'll fail to realize that Star will always have something to fall back on. She kept her dues current to the American Bar Association, just in case something like this would happen (not her exact words from an earlier interview with Larry King this year, not last night's interview, currently being played as we blog). Big props to University of Houston Law School!

I found Star to be annoying, while on the View. Last night on Larry King she stuck to her guns, and represented herself well. She obviously has blame in this, but ABC overreacted. In her people interview she said "she felt like she was fired.
She must have taken a sedative to calm herself, becuase if that was me, I would eventually have started crying or cussing up a storm.
Favorite parts of the interview:
Starr: Remember I was told on April 21st.... ( said that at least 5x)
According to Starr, Barbara told her to "Wrap herself around the fact that Rosie was the new cohost. (classic).

I really don't understand how people are reading this BS and saying that BARBARA WALTERS is to blame. Clearly, Star Jones is a liar, and on an undeserved high horse. the most annoying part of the issue is that we are all hypocrites.
1. we are accusing star of lying about the gastric bypass thing, when we all lie and bend the truth about things we are not comfortable about. even rosie (the biggest hypocrite of all) had been lying about her sexuality for decades, talking how she wants to sleep with cruise, now pressuring star about star's issues, we all know star has been fat all her life and probaly is un-comfortable about her weight issues.
2. we are abusing about her lavish weddings, she is not the first to have a lavish wedding. that is all we see on tv, how come she is the only one we keep making fun off.

I saw this interview, it was pointless. It was obviously a really bad attempt at PR and damage-control. When she talked about the things that obviously angered her, she had the fakest smile on her face to make it seem like it was funny. This woman is a mess of a human being. I'm still trying to figure out why she's famous to begin with. She's completely uninteresting, in every aspect. No redeeming qualities at all.
I used to watch the VIEW all the time, and don't mean to go against the grain here, but liked Star's contributions to the show. Can anyone enlighten me as to why people hate her?
