Teleclea - I love Jeff Buckley. I saw him play in Australia and my sister who went to the concert with me got his guitar pick when he threw it into the crowd that night after the end of the (superhot) performance. He was very much on something but it didn't matter. He really loved singing and playing his guitar. His band was fantastic too. I was devastated when he died. I couldn't fathom why he waded into the mississipi or what the true occurence of events were that led to his death. Grace (off the same-named album) is one of my favorite songs.
Jeff Buckley was not in the Birds. He was an amazing singer/guitar player who worked with a lot of great musicians who died right down the street from me.
My boyfriend saw him play numerous times in Memphis for just five bucks. He was cool like that.

NoAnjil and TiredOldWhore, Jeff Buckley is/was a solo artist but he played with Mick Grondahl and Matt Thompson, who play bass and drums. Jeff's late father Tim Buckley was a folk singer in the 60s who also died young like Jeff. It seems to me they were cursed.

I also saw Nirvana at a concert in Australia a couple of years before Kurt shot himself and none of my friends wanted to go to concerts with me for a while cos they though I was a curse. Maybe I am.

Gosh and I thought I was the only Australian lurking around here. Ya DJs is a store etc, but Jeff Buckley oh my.... Chicas I have to tell you, I remember seeing Jeff Buckley busking on the promenade down at Bondi Beach about 15 years ago (gosh has it really been that long??) I think Grace was out, and he was here playing some smaller shows, and there he was, just a guitar and a harmonica, busking away. I sat down on the wall a bit away from him and listened (i was about 15 and way to scared to approach) It was a beautiful day, and noone even realised who he was, or that his talent was slightly better than your average bondi busker. so sad when he died.....

And to the person who said they were unaware we have fashion in Australia, well that is a lame thing to say. We have lots of great designers like Akira and Collette Dinnigan, Alannah Hill, Nicola Finetti,Leona Edmiston, Easton Pearson, Zimmerman, etc. And then a few NZ labels which are popular here like Karen Walker, Kate Sylvester, Zambesi, Trelise Cooper.
We may have a low population count but globally, talent is equally distributed, isn't it. Meaning that our designers are just as good as any other country. That is all.
