If you do damage to your vocal cords, and you're SUPPOSED to be on vocal rest, that usually lasts at LEAST a week. You shouldn't even be speaking. Most times, it's the talking that does the damage, in conjuction with the singing. Seeing as shes' a horrible singer, and has NO technique, she fucked herself...FINE...but why in the BLUE HELL is she even attempting it when she KNOWS she's technically sick?

One of the things I hate about Chest is that she's always trying to win the crowd by "being herself". She makes a mistake and immediately tries to justify or explain it in a cutesy sort of way. Fans get that artists make mistakes (there are always problems with sound, mics, etc.) but she thinks she's so cute when she says, "I tried it!" and opens her huge mouth in her signature "oops" face.
I think about other singers like Beyonce or Christina Aguilera who both performed at the VMAs. Beyonce owned that stage and Christina, though she seemed to try a little too hard, sang her butt off and when she looked a little uncomfortable at times, didn't stop and try to make the audience laugh at her mistake, she just kept going. This is what sets Chest apart. She's always too aware of herself. When she performed "Boots" on one of these shows a while ago, she looked anything but confident and prepared. She NEVER "owns" the stage, a song, anything. If she'd made a mistake, she would have immediately tried to look cute.
She just think the whole world is gonna say, "Oh Jess!" and laugh and cheer even more than they were before. Her self confidence is low, very low. As much as I loathe her, I feel sorry for her in this sense.

Seriously, though, I agree she is such a self-conscious perfomer. She never loses herself in her music or her performance- it's always about the cutesy act...or as she said at the VMA's, "pulling a Jessica" or whatever she said. The good thing is that most people aren't responding to it anymore. Her entire team needs to be fired, and a new image has to be created for her to rebound at all. And I agree her self-esteem is circling the bowl. That much is obvious in every perfomance and every picture.

Take a rest, see a pro voice couch, and make it learn you how put the strain more on diaphragm and less on larynx.
Doing interviews, and so, talkin' a lot, and singing with a still bruised vocal cord is quite walkin' over a broken leg. You can, but you may suffer further damage and cripple yourself for life. Or maybe recover, but in a long, long, looooong time.
An "oopsie" cute face may win your public, but keep singin' and talkin' without any care will mean end your career as a goth singer with a rugged voice, backwards crosses and black leather all-over, or signing around with goofy faces how she feels to have a lot in common with the Little Mermaid, rich, spoiled, mute and with a film to do.
