The inquest would be open to the public, Virgill said.
She said authorities believe they know what killed Smith, but were awaiting a toxicology report to confirm the findings. She declined to disclose details but said there was no sign of physical injury to Smith.
"I can confirm that there was definitely a third person in the room at the time of death and I do know who that person is," Virgill said. "But I am unwilling to reveal that information at this time for various reasons."
Police were reconstructing Smith's steps since his arrival Saturday in the Bahamas, said Reginald Ferguson, the assistant commissioner of the Royal Bahamian Police Force.
Ferguson told the AP that no drug paraphernalia or traces of illegal drugs were found on Daniel Smith, in the hospital room or near the room.

I disagree. Anna had a lot of problems that she should'n't have exposed a kid to. She shouldn't have had children in the first place. (BTW, where are the fathers?) Giving a kid up for adoption to a normal family is not abandoning them. My friend had a child at a young age and she had a lot of personal problems. She gave her son up for adoption. She had the good sense and decency to not have her kid exposed to her crazy life, which ultimately will screw up the kid's life.

By toxicology report, they could be looking for other things, like poison perhaps? They said that no trace of illegal drugs were found. So that rules out cocaine or a needle full of herion, etc. They also said a "Trace" of anti-depressants, not that is od'd on them. Strange.

I think they should have House M.D. examine the body. His razor sharp insight, and gruff, cranky demeanor will pinpoint the cause of death.
All I know is that Cyanide has a very difinitve odor. Many madical professionals can spot that smell even without having to do an autopsy. Maybe someone poisoned him.

I think he died from a drug overdose and that the mystery person in the room with him is being considered as partly or fully responsible. It could have just been an accident, involving a friend or acquaintance, and not involve ANS or Howard.

Now I'm starting to wonder. I feel bad even thinking this, but... he did go immediatly to his mother's hospital room from getting off the plane. Could he have been transporting drugs for her and the balloon broke? With all her money would she use her own son as a mule? I doubt Howard is the father. I think that one guy who's saying he's the father is the father. (I can't think of his name) Howard and Anna are very close and I can understand why she wanted him in the delivery room. Anna doesn't have her family around. Howard's prob the next closest thing if Daniel hadn't gotten there yet.
I don't see Howard killing Daniel either. It seem's Howard lives for Anna-why would he do something that would cause her so much pain? For money? I can see that, but still, Im sure he gets paid a good salary.

Way late response to a question earlier, but I stated earlier that ANS' use of a picture on Daniel's memorial website was a WTF because her face is full-on while his face is obscured. Someone asked for a link - it's at annanicole.com, but the picture used here is the same picture. One would think that SHE is the one being memorialized just by looking at the photo.

I think ANS loved her son as much as she could. But I think she loves herself more. It broke my heart to see him tagging along like a puppy dog, yearning for her to pay attention to him and praise him. Children always love their parents no matter how shitty they are as parents. They long for attention and approval and affection and are loyal even though the parent does not deserve it. I'm not a psychologist, but damn if I haven't seen the phenomenon many times. Sad.

That is so, so sad. And despite all these people burbling about how much she loved her son, it shows a lot about how much she did love him, as compared to loving herself and her crazy life.
