Actually, I think he's in rehab for alcoholism, not drugs -- which is how alot of former junkies backslide. I don't know why they think they can control alcohol if they couldn't control drugs. Anyway, glad he's getting help and I hope he'll be sober soon.

I personally tried for nearly 15 years to get sober, but it was always for someone else. You have to get to the point where you are sick and tired of everything the substance has destroyed.
And to folks who are being facetious about the whole thing....imagine if you craved something so much that eventually you wouldn't even go to work because the craving was that bad. That's part of what addiction is.
And he is in rehab for alcoholism, but what many people realize is that alcohol is a drug as much as coke or meth or whatever.

I hate to tell you MJF that rural areas are notorious for drug problems. She might not find a "drug-ridden entertainer" but it would be more than easy to find a drug-ridden average-joe. I work with drug patients in a rural area - and it is much more prevalent that anyone realizes!
