Gravatar I wondered when you were going to discover the BS that has sprung from this sentencing. Apparently the Governor is planning on defeating his sentence due to the large public outcry in the murderer's favor. I'm still of the opinion that his sentence was way to lenient and that our society is shamefully ignorant as a whole!

Gravatar I don't know how the governor will act in respect to clemency, but he's already acted improperly simply by stating that the judge should rethink the sentence. So much for respecting the independence of the judiciary.

I think that action is an indicator of the governor's lack of a real stance on anything, and the fact that he's solely motivated by politics in all things. He has to disagree with the sentence to suck up to the nutbags, but a straight out grant of clemency would be too costly among rational voters who actually respect rule of law. If polling told Richardson he'd benefit from throwing puppies against a wall, he'd throw puppies against a wall.
