*gasps that people voted Toni over Mary!* LOL! Seriously though, I think that Mary spoke to a lot of people in a great way, and while quality is obviously very important, reaching deeper into your soul and affecting those around you is even more important.

Any way, i can relate to the My Life love. I was a freshman in college upon its release and it was the soundtrack to those days... I'm glad Mary's still rocking considering what she was going through when she made that album.

Excellent post! I am a huge MARY fan too, and I guess this post was right on time b/c as soon as I finished reading it, (at this very moment) Mary's Real Love came on the radio, now is that ironic or what???

I am feeling Envy Me too, and one with Cassidy. I love The Tour album though, so shame on you for dissing that one. The My Life does not register with me though, maybe because I was a freshmen in high school and could not relate, but the Mary CD is my favorite by her.

I agree, Mary may not be the best singer but she has so much soul that I feel. Can't wait to hear Envy Me.

mary is definitely great. hands down she is great. however, i want more. i need mary to step up her game or she'll find herself fighting for that younger audience and then you'll all wonder why she is even put in a category with those she's inspired.
with all this soul and ability to move crowds, where is she taking this? and don't get me wrong i love me some mary. i do... but i cannot imagine getting this regurgatation album after album.
mary by this time should be inventing THE GAME and yet i can already see she is still following the rules of it.
