At A Moments Notice...
I haven't seen the Boondocks series either, but I have heard a lot about it from friends who have. This spot was on point. It is increadibly honest. I'm sure quite a few folks will object to the use of Dr. King in this way, however Aaron McGruder is voicing what many of us patriots for our people are thinking.

Thx 4 honoring brother McGruder. I love "The Boondocks,"& trust you'll peep his brilliance w/ a quickness. Dr. Joy DeGruy-Leary says "you can count on two types of people to tell you the truth: children & old people."

I did see it...and found that it served it's purpose to entertaining..and thought provoking...As for putting our laundry out for all to see....guess what, they already see it...

First, let me start by saying that I love The Boondocks! I've been following it since it was a mere comic, and now it has flourished into a television series ... what a wonderful thing!!! Anywho, I feel that this clip hits the nail right on the head. As Chris Rock once said, "There are Black people, and then there's Niggas!" "Niggas are trifling and shiftless ..." and they are the only people that will be offended by this (besides the people that are just looking for a reason to be mad at something) because it rings true to them. Black/African American people will not be offended by this because they know that they are not trifling ... they know that they are not shiftless ... they know that they are prompt for things, so they aren't going to have trouble seeing the real message in this "speech" ... "Niggas" need to elevate their game and become the productive citizens we know they can be! And as Mike mentioned, the masses already see our dirty laundry ... we can't hide something that is clearly visible!

This is the most I've seen of the Bookdocks. I've heard that they've been using the N-Word, but at least I see they're putting it to good use. I'm more of an admirer of Boondocks than a fan [I need to work on that] but I'm sure Aaron is making folks think f'sho!
