1. Nobody on the male half of the family tree? What am I, chopped (& dried) liver (treats for the cur)?
2. All that delay, and no one word about the blessed event (and I don't mean the impending arrival of the bratlet). Hmph!
3. If you want to get goodwill/etc. for my side of the family - specifically, if you think you know what they like - go for it. I have simply resorted to gift cards in the past b/c I never know what anyone wants. Like you said - it's the thought that counts.

As for #1- resistance was futile. You have been assimilated.
#2- Yay! I'm done with school forEEEEEver. (Hmmmm, second doctorate, anyone?)
#3- Yeah, I think the real problem is that I don't know for SURE what they'd like and yet I'm trying to buck their system anyway. And a gift card or receipt makes good use of the money spent- they will get something they actually want, which sounds like good stewardship to me... Neither way is perfect. If shopping wasn't so dang much fun, we could say we're scrapping the whole thing and giving a wad to charity.
