I am quite certain that you rocked and that you were robbed. The thing with podunk auditions is that sometimes the committee doesn't really know what to listen for. I'm a member of a certain C orchestra (70 miles or so to the north of where I actually live) and I was on the committee for some of the most recent auditions. I know these things are subjective, but in one instance, I'm not sure that the person I thought was the best player was even in the final round. I voted for this person, but they didn't get enough votes to make it to the finals. I'd love to know who that person was so I could tell them that I really liked their playing.

Thanks, Courtney!
I just feel so sour grapey saying "the committee didn't know what they were up to" or "they knew who they wanted" myself, even though I secretly think so, too.
It's just frustrating since I actually wanted it, and wanted especially to know in advance what kind of a year I would have, gig-wise... maybe next year.
Maybe I need to be more proactive, do more with my own duo stuff and get around to building a studio here. So... much... effort. Where did I put that silver platter?
