Gravatar M,
Your comment about timing and location is so true. I had the incredible good luck to be in Florence, Italy last year. One evening, on my way to dinner, I stepped into the courtyard of the Uffizi Gallery. It was dark and empty except for a lone violinist practicing a slow nocturne. I was riveted for about 15 minutes just soaking it up. This guy was no Josh Bell, but the acoustics, ambiance and resonance of that 400 year old courtyard (mellow and rich) more than made up for it. A fabulous experience I will never forget.
It's all about location, location, location....and a bit o' timing.

Gravatar Location - very true. I made $400 in an hour of busking in the tourist section of Niagara Falls several years ago.

And if Edgar Meyer and Bjork were in MY driveway, that would be pretty surreal. David Perry would probably come in for a coffee - we played a very odd music festival together years ago which we bonded over. The story will show up on my blog someday, I'm sure.

Gravatar Jen, I would love to read that story. I had the great priviledge of going to UW, to do a fellowship thingy with the Pro Arte. I didn't know anything about the viola prof (love her) but pretty much signed up because he was there. It was worth it!

John, I wanna travel with you guys! See, traveling's when people have the time and inclination to soak things in. What a great moment.
