Hey, its been a while since I've been here. I quit a blog about a year and a half ago (the daily fun word) and then the url got taken from me. I understand totally about taking a break just if you like your blog's name don't give it up. Otherwise someone else may take it from you.

I appreciate your need to budget your time and energy. But I'll admit my selfish hope that you find some time to write about current events here. In my opinion, news items can still be worth discussing even after the news media have stopped talking about them. Most of what happens in the news represents recurring patterns in human nature. If they're not worth writing about, what is?
Besides that, Melissa, I feel that it's easier for me to keep track of you as a friend if you write about current events here. It's selfish, but it's my honest thought.

Well, when my first son was born I was TOTALLY into being a daddy!
I read everything, from what to expect to Spock. I saved all the old Newsweek Magazines on early learning, and I made copies of graduate student readings from a friend who was getting her masters in early childhood education!
Go with the flow. People will relate. As you know, I write politics, but now and then I talk about my kids, and people say those are the best posts!

I know how that can happen...think of it as a vacation, jetting through, of course!
