yeah I changed my mind about the Friday night show @ the horseshoe because I was going to a friends wedding the next day(btw, I just came back from the reception), and I thought maybe I should just take it easy Friday night...I'm damn disappointed having missed Great Lake Swimmers yet again, and not seeing Jon Rae Fletcher who I'm only recently acquainted with(I bought an older album of his a couple of days ago)...I figure I'll catch Jon Rae for sure at the Ear to the Ground fest, and well Great Lake Swimmers will undoubtedly play Toronto again. So how was the show? Was it a packed house?

the biggest surprise was akron/family who blew everyone away. big time. i bought their album last night. so good.
btw. jon rae is opening for cuff the duke/meligrove band on the 9th so youll see him there. what a great lineup. ill prolly go to this.

This comment has nothing to do with this post in particular...but it has to do with an earlier post you made. I do not think Matt Pond PA is opening for Athlete...I have tickets to Athlete, and everywhere I read (except on Edge102.com), it says that The Working Title is opening...
that being said, it does look like that Matt Pond PA will be in Toronto on Oct 23, opening for Liz Phair...more info on mattpondpa.com and hob.com

Janice, Thanks for the info on Matt Pond. Even though I'm not enthralled with Liz's current single and hadn't committed to seeing her live at the Phoenix, I'm gonna reconsider it in hopes of hearing some of her older tunes and of course Matt Pond Pa makes it all the more tempting.
$9.99? Mind-boggling. I can't wait to pick this up; it's fantastic.
