...minor quibble; honestly, i don't really see that one as being about "sex pos" so much per se; it's more about, lookit, it's not all about straight people, and the appropriation/universalizing thing is getting to be kind of a general theme here, looks like, and, well, yeah, getting a bit tired of the whole thing.

..actually it's not a minor quibble at all, come to think of it, since sort of the whole point of the post was that i'm awful tired of being painted as making arguments i'm not;
just, it's not my quibble with -you-, because i assume you just got this, again, under the wire, haven't really been following all this shit that closely (which, as someone else put it, is right up there with fashioning doll furniture out of plaque as pasttimes go), and so on.
but yeah: it's actually, if i had to do a TV guide blurb, more about heterocentricity (heteronormativity, whatever your multisyllabic word of choice) in the feminist blogosphere. how everything gets FRAMED as being about men-n-women, men-n-women, men versus women, men oppressing women, menmenmenmen.
sort of obscure i guess in that the springboard post had to do with "rape porn;" just, well, yeah, the rest of it is in the post itself.
anyway, thanks again.

This is open to the collective bloggers who participate in the carnival... (I would also be interested in a theorization of the purpose/project of these types of carnivals--but time is short?)
----------------------
I would like to extend an invitation to you to join in on a collective blogging section of our upcoming winter issue of Reconstruction. The issue is the “Theories/Practices of Blogging.” In addition to the special section of posts on blogging there will be about a dozen essays on blogging.
The deadline is October 27th.
Our intent in this section of the issue will be to collect a wide range of bloggers and link up to their statements in regards to why they blog (something many of us are asked) and any statement they have on the theories/practices of blogging.
If you already have a post on this you can feel free to use it, or, if you are interested, you can submit a new one.
We will link to each statement from the issue at our site, with the intent of creating a hyperlinked list of statements on blogging that can serve as an introduction to blogging (or an expansion of knowledge for those already blogging).
If you are interested please contact me at mdbento @ gmail.com
