Bryan Fischer is trying to spin this piece of crap legislation as pro-woman. From his website: "Yesterday a bill was introduced in committee that will provide protection for Idaho women who are coerced into having an abortion. This is an ultimate pro-woman and pro-choice bill. In fact, radical feminists who are the loudest champions of choice should in fact be leading advocates for this legislation, since it will protect a woman's right to choose, free of pressure or coercion, in an abortion decision. Don't hold your breath."
Laughable. Tragically laughable that he thinks women are too stupid to make good decisions, too weak to stand up for themselves and so eager to please men that they're incapable of making their own reproductive choices.
Mr. Fischer has no clue what feminism is, what pro-woman means or what real respect for women looks like.

Of course, there doesn't seem to be any discernment between advising - or even suggesting - to abort and coercing to abort, so what we have brewing here is yet another adventure in costing Idaho taxpayers money for the sake of unconstitutional anti-abortion bills.
Thinking about it, I wonder how this kind of legislation would interact with parental consent laws - another issue on which Idaho politicians aren't concerned with abiding by the Constitution. (emphasis mine)
Or maybe they do care about the Constitution and just interpret it differently than the Burger Court, and are assuming that the new Supreme Court will interpret it their way.

And they may be right. Or not. Quite a gamble to take with Idaho tax payer money since eventually someone will challenge. Idaho doesn't have that kind of scratch. Perhaps they should leave this sort of thing to Kansas & the Dakotas?

I think it's pretty clear that defining any advice towards abortion as "coercion" would infringe on freedom of speech.

Abortion is murder, Sara. It's sad that the American left has spent itself protecting the murder of helpless babies, instead of protecting our civil rights. It seems like as long as women can murder their babies in the womb, Democrats are satisfied. Never mind the drug war, the loss of our civil liberties, war anywhere and everywhere. Ya'll keep fighting for your right to have an abortion, while Rome burns. It's not just tacky, it's gross. I'm for your right to an abortion - as long as you eat the corpse. If you don't eat it, you go to jail for murder. I think that would cut down on abortions, don't you? It would empower women at the same time, since there's probably a lot of protein in a fetus.
The question Nonini should be asking is, "Arentcha hungry?"

Sara, I'm an old punk-rocker and anarchist living in Franklin, Tennessee. A few years ago I joined the skateboarding jihad. I don't think I'd have much of a chance in politics even if I wanted to get involved (and of course I don't). The problem is, I let everyone know how I feel. I say what I think. My campaign slogan might be, "Overthrow the Government Now!" or "Jihad - The American Way!". That's no way to get elected. To get elected, you lie to the people, you make false promises, and you certainly don't say anything about eating abortions. You know? My previous comment was horrible, reprehensible. I'm sorry. I just get so angry when I see Dems rallying to protect our right to abortion, while they let the drug war rage on without comment and while they let the drug warriors go on extorting and oppressing with impunity. It seems you're picking on a soft target, when there are so many real enemies out there, like your local drug task force. Let me ask: Do the Moscow, Idaho police sell drugs? The police in Coeur d'Alene sell drugs. They sell pot by the pound. Why not attack them, instead? Who really deserves to die, here? Why not fight for your right to kill drug warriors, instead of babies? If you killed a thug drug warrior, I think your country would be better off. I'm not so sure about killing babies ... I think we need those babies! Some of them might be the militant revolutionaries who would suicide-bomb the drug warriors in their dens, and send them to Hell where they belong. What was it Thomas Jefferson said? Something like, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Babies are too small to be tyrants. That leaves the drug warriors. Fight them instead!
Thanks for providing this forum. Your blog rocks.

I like your readers... many of them seem like the crazy people that call liberal radio talk shows to tell them how wrong they are.
I agree with you on the VAST majority of this article. My only... beef (I guess) is that you can do things to people that you don't have a legal right to do but are also not illegal - like breaking a contract.
That's all, see you tonight.

Fremont, California Police Sell Drugs!
I have been given and sold marijuana while driving a taxi in fremont, later to find out it was the police… I realized this after they tried to buy weed back from me later.
They even offered me meth for free, saying they found it on the ground at bart.
I never sold weed to them, nor accepted the meth.
Fremont Police are corrupt!
