Talk Back to Scholar Here... Civil discourse required, but we value clarity over agreement.

Gravatar Thanks for sharing.. I wish more people would use action research to back up their answers.. DO the teachers back the intergrated math cirriculumn?

Gravatar I would be interested to hear from more teachers, but I think that it would be difficult for teachers in an "integrated" school or district to publicly speak out against integrated math. New teachers are the products of the education schools, which preach integrated math, whole language, and discovery learning. It is interesting for me to hear from the college math department professors who must deal with the freshman student products of integrated math.

Gravatar I would rather see hard data, not student perception surveys. What are their ACT scores? Many MnSCU schools are moving to ACT and Accuplacer scores for Math placement. Given the ACT scores, you can see where students would be placing at various institutions without the uncertainty of student perception.
