A bit of paranoia? How can stringent budget cuts be bad but stringent quality control or stringent expectations of students be good? And a prodigy is "a highly talented child or youth" ... not an inappropriate description for a best-selling author, regardless of content.
Lee, point well taken, but I am looking at the overall worldview of the examples chosen. Some parents would not see anything unusual, but obviously I did after analyzing the entire volume and considering the examples as a group.
