Well, one thing is going to change come January. If we get a Democrat in office, we will at least have someone with a higher-than-room-temperature IQ leading the nation. Which will be a change right there.
Oh, I don't foresee any real change in the general direction of the nation towards corporate fascism, but at least we won't be going off on any more stupid adventures overseas. The DLC corporate fascists understand you can get more with subtlety than with guns. The neo-con fascists, on the other hand, still think Hitler's strategy was, like, groovy, dude.
Realism, dude. I'm a bit older than you, so I gave up on all that idealism stuff long ago. I expect things to get worse long before they get better. All we can do right now is slow the slide towards the end of the Republic. But perhaps that is a noble goal in and of itself. Perhaps.

Agi: No way -- I would lose that fight, too. However, I'll be over here for most of my blogging enjoyment, and that is a music-oriented blog, so feel free to drop in anytime. Music doesn't piss me off the way politics does.
BadTux: Realism. Yeah, I know. Still, it would be nice not to have one hope raised just to see it dashed. You know, just for a damn lark.
Red: I've given up on the Medley, not on blogging. I will, though, write one more post here, on the 13th, just for sentimental reasons. I have to -- the 13th will be the Medley's fourth anniversary. And that'll be it for me here. I'm easing my way back into the music hobby I gave up years ago. When I'm ready to start putting my own stuff on the Net, I'll let everyone know. (Which reminds me, Red: I lost your e-mail address. Click on my Blogger profile and send me an e-mail.)
