I guess the same way they still collect Social Security checks. There are dishonest people in this world, and certain groups need to quit being handled like they are incapable of adapting to life in our society.
Maggie, when one spouts off sure of themselves, one usually finds out they should have kept their mouth shut. A simple google search using the terms, "Dead voters" should educate you a bit on this subject. I never implied the dead vote...however, dishonest people exist and assume a dead person's identity for any purpose.
I hear ya! Just know that the NAACP does NOT speak for the entire race. There are those of us who understand the difference between advancement & complacent. I vote for the fisherman, not the fish. (as in "...teach a man to fish...")

I agree with you 100%. It's just that the reason people don't want ID's is because they are using voter fraud to their advantage.

A-OK, Kel.....I'm a Republican in Independent clothes! It was just that when I registered I refused to let either of the major parties "count" on my vote! I've got this damn wild streak. Seems like the Independent numbers have been growing over the years. Are people reading my mind?
But I'm stuck in a Blue State with a Red Attitude. I got real pissed off with my Senators (I'd tell you their names but I don't think you like curse words) and informed them that after all my years as an Independent I was going to join the Republican Party. Take that you blue slime.
If my mouth roars, just put me in my place. But I like Rob and Sam (glad to see she posting above - NOT glad with her difficulties), so with your permission I'll visit daily. Thanks.
Visit anytime you want...I think Sam got tired of my bugging her to death to blog again...but she is one of the MAIN reasons I started. And what's better than a blog that has a Christian Conservative MOm of 3 and a Lesbian posting? Nothing this side of Dixie, honey!! Plus, I love Sam and Stacy to death..they're cool...My husband said after meeting them, "It would be so cool to have Sam and Stacy live here. You and Sam could do "girl" stuff and me and Stacy could go and blow stuff up. 
Be VERY, VERY careful if you do hang out with those two....you might catch poison oak! If you don't get the reference, ask Sam.

I will take any opportunity to pick on your Republican nature. 
But not here. This is just plain stupid. Shouldn't EVERYONE have some sort of positive identification on them? How the heck do you get anything done? They won't even say "Good Morning" to you in a bank unless you have some sort of picture identification.
If going to get your picture taken (and FOR FREE no less) for positive identification is going to "disenfranchise" you from the polling process. You are NOT the type of person I want in their deciding who our legislatures are going to be.
What the dim-a-crits are upset about is that this will keep them from rigging elections by picking people up off the streets and taking them to vote about three times each. It has been happening and the election officials every where know that it is happening but Georgia is the first state government with the balls to try to something about it.
If there is gonna be a problem then issue a picture registration card-at east make people prove who they are before allowing them to vote.
