I sympathize. I also think "you guys" is one of the less annoying ones. It has become apparent to me that most of the feminist issues -other than abortion- in the US revolve around pop-culture stuff. At least for me (university student) it seems to be that way. It's not really something you can go to court for. An example is how most children's cartoons have male main characters and girls are either on the side or if a girl is a main character she is some kind of bubble-gum barbie superhero. I think some sort of positive campaign by feminist needs to change what's cool.

Yes, we can't take anyone to court for using 'guys' or 'man' as the "general terms" people think they are. But it's really neat when your niece tells your mom, "Nana, I am not a man!" after your mom said something like, "Hey man, come sit next to me."

I laughed and laughed. Then I quickly added, "And I had absolutely nothing to do with that response!"
