To me if you're going to drink sodas, just drink up, forget about the calories. Why? Let's face it, you should drink sodas in moderation anyway.
I've tasted Coke Zero, I think it tastes better than Coke Light but nothing beats Original Coke.

I'm really not that concerned about the calories more than the sugar. We're a family of diabetics and though I don't have it yet, it pays to be careful.

I used to drink plenty of the stuff when I was still working for a fastfood chain. Glad I had the good sense to stop,

Diet Coke or Coke Zero, it never appealed to me. I prefer water or tea anytime more than sodas. Only once in a bluemoon I will crave for sodas. But then it will still not be coke

owell, diet coke and coke zero use aspartame as a substitute for sugar. Equal uses the same component. Aspartame is harmful to patients with congenital disorder known as PKU or phenylketonuria. So beware... Hahaha...
I heard from classmates that aspartame has a carcinogenic potential in long term intake... especially in sodas because the amount of aspartame is only minimal. I am not sure though if this information is valid.
That's why I use Splenda instead of Equal as a substiture for sugar because splenda uses sucrose instead of aspartame.

i no longer drink coke, too. pero minsan minsan nakikisingit. i tried coke zero once, mas type ko siya than diet coke. i don't know why but coke zero doesn't trigger my acids as much as diet and regular coke do.

Thanks for the added info. And, coming from a medical student, that makes it more credible. he he.
Really? I better switch to Splenda and throw all of our Equal away.

i've read that information dak is referring to in Readers Digest, but can't get the link. HEHE.
But I drink coke only when I eat roast pig/kinilaw/kilawin for better digestion. As they say...

I posted a comment earlier and didn't get a confirmation or error message.
I've read about the information Dak is referring to in Readers Digest (http://www.rd.com) I think.
But I don't drink coke or sodas for that manner. Only when there's lechon, kilawin or kinilaw during big parties

Do softdrinks really aid digestion? I didn't know that. But I don't think that's good enough reason for me to go back to drinking it. He he.

Coke Zero is awesome. It comes close to original Coke without the calories. No, I'm not paid by Coke and I'm not one of its employees. Only problem I have is consistency. I find that there are slight taste variations from time to time.

If the water in your area is safe to drink, choose tap water!
Mineral water bottles are not as easy to recycle as soda cans, so if you want to help not only your body but the environment, drink tap water whenever possible.
I try to drink as much tap water as I can (even if the place is water is not so good, I rather boil it for ten minutes to get ride of any parasites). It saves me money and keep my footprint low. the exception is when I visit places where the water is not just unfiltered but has wear tastes, I was I was once in a place where the water tasted like rusted metal and gas, not even bolling helped to get rid of that, so I bought large returnable bottles of mineral water, and from that I refilled small ones.
Plastics are forever, so reduce, reuse, and lastly recycle.

Too bad the Youtube video about the ingredients is so one-sided. It doesn't mention the studies or facts that discount the ones mentioned in the video. You should do your research thoroughly before coming to conclusions.
