Nice write-up, Pards. Sadly, a circus is all what those congressional hearings are. They were meant to be held "in aid of legislation" but for some reason, I haven't come across any new and meaningful law that has resulted from such hearings.
It's a mere forum, just a big circus tent, to borrow your analogy. They are meant to entertain us and to divert our attention away from more pressing matters such as unemployment and poverty.
The circus tent needs to be folded up because the show has gotten old and the performers are no longer that entertaining. They circus needs to get out of town real soon.

It's not exclusive to the Philippines. Other countries have a bigger political circus than what we have here. It's just that people here lack the wisdom to tell which is politicking and which is not.
I often have a round of laughter every time I tune up the boob-tube and watch people asking Malac
ñang to tell the truth and by that, they mean Malacañang should admit that it has something to do with ZTE bribery. They are convince already that there is an anomaly just because a Probinsyanong Intsek made a for-Famas crying spiel.
I also wonder why people always makes reference that Jun Lozada is with the religious when in fact the religious in this country has long lost its credibility too.
The Catholic church receive a huge fraction of the pie when political parties campaign woe them for support.

yes, the cirsus tent needs to be closed because no legislation has come out of their "performances". it's all political grandstanding, done to show naive voters that they are doing something. some say it's mere advertisement for name recall come election time.

I also think rather strongly that the church should stay out of politics! there should be a separation of church and state. besides, haven't they put us in harm with their influence? I definitely do not agree with their stand on birth control which has led to uncontrolled population explosion especially in the poorest sector of society.
Jun Lozada is no saint. he is also one of our corrupt officials that is why they refuse to take thhis to the proper courts. they know that Jun is not a credible witness. he may be saying the truth but it won't stand in court.
the funniest antics for me are those of Jamby Madrigal, trying to drum up controversy of her own to attract public interest. ha ha.

Hmm...this is fun. Not because you made these for these people but because of the way they make themselves the laughing stock of everyone, like they are rats scrambling to pick up the pieces of a meal gone wrong.

Bakit ba palagi na lang tanong ang 'sino ang papalit?'. Bakit mas takot tayo sa kung sino ang papalit kaysa sa garapalang pagbabalahura sa atin? Hindi ba dapat, silang mga nakaluklok sa pwesto ang dapat matakot sa atin dahil hangga't hindi sila nagtitino, palagi tayong nakaabang para kaagad-agad silang pagwelgahan at patalsikin? Ok, just because we feel that the personages concerned are basically of the same dirt, we do nothing. We'll wait for an election which will still be as dirty or much dirtier than before because we didn't push for a resolution to the 'hello garci' issue. We even believe that GMA will relinquish her post after 2010 considering the many cases she has to face as an ordinary citizen and despite 'subtlely' pushing for charter change. Then, let us all HOPE and PRAY that it is our votes that will count during the 2010 elections and that GMA will give up the presidency/control of the government. That seems to be the only option we have for the country. Until then, let the CIRCUS play for our entertainment. It is for FREE.
