whenever i hear the term "salad days" i am reminded of a line in that very prolific 80's band, Spandau Ballet:
"These are my salad days/slowly being eaten away."

yep, kinda ruined me taking the idea of my youth as my salad days seriously.

if anything my youth was my mac and cheese days. isn't that the only time anybody eats A LOT of mac and cheese???
