Gravatar I'll never apologize for my love of Tears for Fears.

And whenever you can drink a shitload of beer, try the new Rising Moon spring ale. Mighty tasty.

Gravatar Ana, good point about not apologizing. But I'm a guy. No real excuse.

Gravatar I can't think of Hip to Be Square any more without thinking of American Psycho. The chapter on Huey Lewis and the News is just too damned good.

Hi, John... FYI, I came here from:

Gravatar Ok, so this was a GREAT walk down memory lane. Thank you for doing the work. It is awsome. I was a huge Huey Lewis fan growing up. infact my first email addy was hip2bsquar@yahoo.com
I still use it even.

I was a big Duran Duran fan too. I thought they were far ahead of their time.. however the whole solo thing... well you know.

Great post man..

Gravatar Jay-zus.

Luckily some of us had found Life's Rich Pageant and The Queen is Dead.

Gravatar Did you see ATP NY was just announced? http://www.atpfestival.com/event.../events/atp-ny/

Gravatar In my homeland it's Falco! Falco! Falco! everywhere at the moment. Books, Films, Albums, "Lost Songs" etc. etc.

We do celebrate our dead *a lot* around here.

Gravatar I must be psychic... all day I had Eddie Murphy's "Party All the Time" stuck in my head, which is odd considering it has been years since I last heard it. And low and behold, it is here on my favorite blog.

Gravatar Sometimes I like to change the lyric to "My girl wants to potty all the time." It's fun!

Gravatar Thanks for linking to that video for "Take It Easy." It has to have been 20 years since I've seen it. I still dust off the only 45 of it and play because I don't care if it makes my totally un-hip but that's a sweet song. I'll be singing that in my office all day today.

Gravatar Was someone actin superior up there?

Pshaw.

Anyway, I loved "Mothers Talk". For a while it would play on MTV right before I'd walk to school. Gave the morning a fun start. "So Red The Rose" got really....depressing with time. Not in terms of being bad (though it might be) they're just really dismal songs, barring "Election Day" which I do still like.

Gravatar this list explains a lot...ouch.
