I've got no scientific aptitude beyond A Level Biology but some of this stuff just makes me boggle. I've been reading up on the planets recently. The NICE model on the formation of the solar system is particularly interesting as the new theories of how the solar system came to be the way it was are cataclysmic and revolutionary. A parallel might be the new model of punctuated evolution, evolution through sudden leaps and bursts.
But take a step back. This this picture, this point of view is 1 billion miles from where we sit/stand. The precision and collective genius involved is, to coin a phrase, astronomical. Human beings can acheive so much.
