Pit hair. Mayo. Mmmm...appetizing.

Gravatar Christ almighty, 90 minutes of the Books. I like 30 minutes of the Books and all, but goddamn.

Gravatar I think the proper term is fiddler.

Gravatar I think it's worth mentioning The Books' singing... it's one of the most important aspects of the show and their new material. It was a very particular mix of speaking and singing, and he often sang over the sampler saying the same words in a completely different pitch, creating a weird doubling effect, with discordant harmonies... and I wonder why the voices were so low in the mix. Also their films... a riveting example of what separates their live show from the headphone experience... though I guess if you couldn't see... I can't believe you missed the home videos. That shit was multimedia, yo.

...and you didn't like the samples?!?!? So basically, not that there's anything wrong with this, but basically, you want to see more folktronica shows...? For me, the sampler is a big part of what makes The Books who they are... the sense of humor they bring to their sound and why they are so unique... Deep and ridiculous at the same time. They are the most genuine Surrealists ever. I think if you found the samples "irksome" then you probably just don't get it...
