dude, dont buy the IKEA stuff. it will break. trust me, i know.

also, how thrilled am i that you're writing here again? you were missed.

Gravatar Lyor looked like he was about to have a massive stroke THE WHOLE TIME. Guess that Fat Joe record didn't make the kids...what was it...oh yeah, lean back! Or maybe they leaned back too hard. Either way, the record sucked.

Gravatar Thank you! I've never enjoyed Stars live either! And I've been a fan for quite a while.

Gravatar "The equally doughy bass player has had an equally terrible haircut for as long as I’ve been following the band, and I’ve really got to hand it to the guy for his persistence."

Superb.

You do know that you have to keep writing, here, right? That none of us would be climbing over ourselves re:Cloud Cult if it weren't for that write-up you did a couple months ago?

And I've always longed for a well-written outsider's expose of the Double Door's Halloween show.

Gravatar I have seen a band take a cell phone call on stage -- Low, in Philadelphia, in 2002, when their daughter was still very young (about a year old) and they were leaving her with a nanny every night. so they kept their cell phone on and onstage, in case of emergency. in this particular instance, though, it wasn't the nanny---it was Gerry Beckley of the band America, who noticed they were both playing in the same town the next night and he wondered if he could play with them at their show. Which he did.

Gravatar what would you have picked for a first single instead of "soul meets body"? so far it's the only song on the record that's really grabbing me by the collar, y'know?

Gravatar oh my god that low story is amazing! maybe more bands should take phone calls on stage!

and john, i would have picked "crooked teeth" or "marching bands of manhattan".

Gravatar "Crooked Teeth" is going to be the second single, and it will be huge. They are buttering people up with the "Losing My Religion"-ness of "Soul Meets Body."
