Gravatar "Okay, that's enough about me and my blog"

That's it? all those questions, you answer one, and now that's enough about you and your blog?

I agree about the feeling of posting. Sometimes I write a post I think is going to be a hit and get no comments, or just a couple. Then I write a post that I think has little to it, but it becomes a hit... you never know what the readers will attach to...

Gravatar Rafi, I do plan to get to Robin's questions, but they aren't about blogging. And AR asked several questions. So there.

Gravatar I love the description of hitting Post. I can relate! Sometimes a post I write quickly gets more comments than one I ruminate and plan and re-write.

Glad making friends is a new goal. Please continue posting and inspiring.

Gravatar I've always enjoyed writing as a means of expressing myself--I started keeping a journal when I was thirteen, and though years may pass between a "post" I still do write in a journal.

I love blogging but sometimes I am unispired. And like you said in your previous post if something is going on that I am expending emotional energy on, then I can't just put up a cheerful, energtic post.

Sometimes I wish I had gone anonymous because then I would post my deep, dark side for all the world to see.

Gravatar One of the advantages of being an artist is that if you have something difficult going on in your life that you can't share verbally, sometimes you can express it an art form (this could be poetry or music, too).

Even if you (Baila or anyone else reading this) don't feel comfortable with an artistic format, let your kids develop one. It can help them as adults with difficult situations.

Gravatar Well, personally, the primary reason I'm blogging is the creative outlet. I don't think my writing has any real and lasting effect on other people. Nevertheless, it has an effect on me. A blog is a good way to sort things out in your own mind, and receiving feedback helps this goal even further.

I think a lot of people have firmly fixed opinions about most things, and they don't need bloggers to come and tell them what to think... but they do like to be reassured by others who feel and think as they do.

So I totally agree with you when you say that "blogging attracts readers who generally agree with your outlook. Others go elsewhere."

Have a great week!

Gravatar Great answers. I love hearing why people blog, they come to it from so many different places.

Personally, I blog for the community it engenders. My blog is an extension of myself - just as in a real life conversation, you never quite know what you're going to get - but for it to be relevant to me I need to know that someone somewhere is out there reading, and then hopefully opening a dialogue with me through comments.

That, and the fact that I've made many wonderful friends in this amazing and diverse virtual community we've carved out.

Gravatar Ziv, I like to get people thinking about things in a different way than they are used to. What I meant was that I am not looking to get into arguments with people.

Gravatar Baila - you can always start a second blog, and blog there anonymously... just let us know what the URL is..

Gravatar Your blog is a hit! Even if a post gets few comments, you'll never know how many read it and were touched by it. Most readers don't comment. Just consider that every post has value. I love your blog.

Gravatar Mazal tov on two years! I enjoy your blog and often learn things I was unaware of.

Gravatar First of all, I want to find out about Baila's deep, dark secrets ( ;
Secondly, MII, I also love reading your posts, (particularly those about the Burka ladies and Rabbanit Keren.)
Thirdly, (am I counting correctly?) I like to blog because it is the only chance I get to speak without being interrupted in the middle of my sentence by my kids, the phone, the doorbell, etc. I guess blogging is my version of "Calgon, take me away!"
Mazal Tov on our blogoversary. Please, keep on truckin'.

Gravatar Two years? That is great. So many bloggers have trouble making it through one.

Gravatar Baila said: "Sometimes I wish I had gone anonymous because then I would post my deep, dark side for all the world to see."

I can relate!

I really enjoy reading what you have to say!

Gravatar Oh, the friendships are priceless, no?

Gravatar I always wanted to be a writer. I guess I've always been a writer without a publisher. Now I have my very own magazines/blogs, the same, no?

Next year I'm going to have to find a new way to make money--leaving teaching...

And I love the friends I've made and rediscovered blogging.

Gravatar You get few comments? When I get, uh- 4, I get down on my knees and kiss the ground.
I got into blogging by accident-I didn't know what I was doing-but now I blog because it is an amazing outlet; a means of self-expression. Unfortunately, I can't live off the proceeds (there aren't any)!
Can you add me to your חוץ לארץ blogroll? Maybe one day (again), I will be in the בלוג ישראלי section...
(btw, you are already added to mine.)
