Thanks for all the great receipes and the introduction to Frugal Journey too.
I believe most Sephardim eat meat on Rosh Chodesh, but not the rest of the 9 days. It seems we take on the restrictions in steps. It is a chumra (stringency) not to listen to music during the 3 weeks, and a widely kept one. No meat/poultry and wine after Rosh Chodesh. But we can still wear clean clothes and bathe/swim until the week of Tisha B'Av. Every year I relearn. There is also a stringency of no fish which I have taken on bli neder just because I mostly make parve or almost parve meals anyways. For us, meat is only for Shabbat anyways, so I feel the extra reminder is good.

I'm so excited to read, and EAT all of the recipes.
I just can't get over the offensiveness of the image, however!
It's a total and complete horrific image that used to be used to represent black people.
I know that I wouldn't want someone using, albeit in innocence, a horrific image of Jews. Are we not then obliged to do the same for others?
