she blogs! Good to see you baking!
I am such a fan of Banana bread (despite loathing bananas) and yet have routinely overlooked this recipe. Not sure why. Maybe it's because I have one recipe I'm faithful to. But I shall try it because you make it sound so good.
It does last well. I get a week out of my loaves usually and I often have it for breakfast - toasted!

Yay for some cake baking as well as knitting - love this recipe, sadly the other half likes his bananas very ripe and scoffs whatever we have on hand - I shall have to hide some!

We love this banana bread and as you say, it keeps very well.
I agree, the cake mixture doesn't look very appealing!

I love this blog! What a great idea. Nigella's banana bread recipe is definitely the best out there, although it wouldn't last a week at my place! I love it so much it was my first proper cooking entry that I made on my own blog: http://chocolateandjasmine.blogs...a-
bread_10.html
I'm still looking through all your posts. Everything looks heavenly.

Um... can you go back and explain the part where banana bread lasts a whole week?! I'm lucky if it's still around the next DAY.

Um... make that the next HOUR. Because I took it out of the oven 20 minutes ago. It is HALF GONE. And that is with one of us away from the home, and, for that matter, another one of us (who had one piece before leaving) off to pick her up. So I'm assuming all it will take is for them to return to polish this baby off. Pretty tasty though. I think I'll try brown sugar next time...
